Issues been a few years since I played but
lera213 replied to lera213's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Troubleshooting
Thank you -
So got a new computer with windows 10 and I like it so now I can buy Inquisition. I decided to install all Dragon Age games and start playing from the start. I had saved my entire documents/bioware/dragonage folder. I installed DOA via Origin. Started the game, created a test new char. Then I dropped my saved addins, override and stuff. All is there however, when I start the game nothing is there. None of the gear, winterforge, virgil vender and such. Some skin issues but most of the hair and makeup is working. I don't have the dazips. How do I get them to work? Is there a way to import them into mod manager or DAmodder so when I start a new char. I can untic the gear until after the first save? How do I get it to recognize? Also since its been years, I noticed that Origins and Social Bioware site are married. However my DLC's are not all showing up. I have them saved on that save I'm talking about above but not showing up. Can someone take the time to help me? Much appreciated lera

For the hair and makeup though you need to either use anothe mod called chargencompiler or manually edit the chargenxml file that is in your override folder. They do not install like all the other mods ie armor, and weapons. -

Dazip is how some mods package their mods up. That is what the mod manager does, it will install DAZIPS...MODS...some mods have them and some not. -

No. I just downloaded it, and i think this might actually work. Ummm, could you give me a quick walkthrough on how to download and apply a mod? Give me a simple example like a hair mod? Hair mod is different you actually will need the mod called Chargencompiler http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/971 If this mod doesn't work with MAC then you will have to edit your chargenxml file manually. Find the hair mod you want, place it in the My Documents/bioware/ dragonage/packeges/core/override (not sure what it is on Mac) folder, make sure the hair mods chargenmorphcfg.xmlis in the hair folder and not in the open override folder directory. Once in the folder run the chargen mod I posted, you should see two, if you do then click on the bottom button. To manually do it: In your override folder basically you have to open it with wordpad, notepad something equiv to that whatever you use for mac. You will see Female Hairs blah blah blah....If you open the mods chagen file, and yours you will pretty much figure out where it has to go. Copy what theirs is to yours. I'm not explaining very well. Sorry -

Exactly what mod are you trying to install would help. People need a little more information then what you have posted in order to try and help you. -
No toolset for Dragon Age 3
lera213 replied to ViktoriaLanders's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
If they have been working on DA3 for three years why couldn't they employ at least 2 people to work on a toolset all this time? They could have put the toolset up as a DLC and charge for it to recoup some cash. -

I think Modding is as entertaining as playing the game. I am not a modder but I use them and I can tell you I've had so much fun trying out new mods, and seeing the wonderful talents people have. To buy a game that you cannot mod is just a big downer for me now. If not toolset then I won't be buying. -
I have a friend that is almost blind, she uses caps on everything. I tried to show her how to increase the text size on her pc and she was thankful but she still uses caps.

FDB SKINS AND TWO MODS
lera213 replied to lera213's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Troubleshooting
first thing that I notice is that you've put the files into the wrong folder. (Highlighted in Red above. It should be in Documents/bioware/dragon age/packages/core/override. Looks like you've put the files in the wrong override folder, which is why the CC isn't seeing them. Give that a go, and see if that helps ;) No I put them in the correct folder I just typo'ed it here. LOL
