devinpatterson
I was wondering is there a mod out there that lets you use any crafting component stored in your companions inventory. ^^ I'm afraid I can't recall any  But in theory I think there could be an way to do it without too much pain. Every actor is a container and you can determine what vanilla companions are hired and near by. It's possible you could do something like that with non vanilla companions as well by doing some ref walking to check for the player faction or getPlayerTeammate on actors that are close by. Once you know what peeps are close enough to add to your inventory you can make and store a formlist of their junk. Then you can move everything into one container (the player), when you enter the recipe menu mode (1077). While your in recipes your inventory would act just like normal, however you'd have the extra items from your companions as well. Once you exited the menumode you tap those stored formlists to move everything back to your companions. To the player, working with the actual recipes via this script would be transparent. I don't think there would be any issues with missing items in the formlists when they are moved back (components used up). However it would be important to restrict the items moved to only crafting components, as you don't want your companions to have to reequip everything when ever you busy at the workbench. I can look into it for you if your not in a rush (don't know when I can get to it), there isn't already a solution or if no one has a more elegant approach.
