Simple-Looking sword request

Thanks...but when you're as ungifted as I am when it comes to textures, you have to make maximum use of the model, materials and UV maps whenever possible so that even mediocre textures don't make the overall look too shabby.

The scabbard actually has geometry where the metal and leather separate...thus making it easy to identify in the UV map...or to go ahead and separate the two to apply a shiny metal effect to one object and a normal dull cloth effect to the other. Same trick for the grip since there are metal bits on the ends.

Now that I stepped away and was distracted by the kids for the afternoon, I come back to this only to find a glaring mistake in my model. I made the bloodletting grove too wide in comparison to the reference image.

Alonso, maybe we all have the exact same style of modeling and preferences...we might just go about implementing them in various ways. :P

I just couldn't resist making my own version when I saw that two others were as well. lol

Finished the UV map and made a texture. Here are the results for comparison. Be aware that there is no lighting or normal map effects going on. Once I create the normal map and get it in-game, you'll see the nice shiny metal effect of the finished product.

EDIT #1: Here it is in-game

EDIT #2: I made a few more adjustments to the plugin, finalized the NIF file by including the scabbard. The only thing left to do is the creation of the readme and upload...after the pizza I just baked...and assuming the kids that just came home from school don't sidetrack me.

EDIT #3: Cross Swords released. Just my typical plugin to get a new model out in the wild.
