Brady13
I just recently re-installed Oblivion, and am encountering a problem I don't remember having before. I can't seem to look/turn while moving, nor move while looking/turning. Is there a generic reason for this? I tried Google'ing, but what little results I found that were even semi-related, people were saying to unplug the joystick. I don't have a joystick so this isn't my reason. Is it normal to not be able to turn and move at the same time? Is there a program I can download or a mod that will let me turn and move at the same time? I'm just finding it hard to believe that I wouldn't remember something as hindering as this!
Hickory
First things first. Go into your game options and reset your keyboard controls to default -- make sure that your keys are not being remapped by some other software or mod.
Brady13
/: I don't have any mods installed and I changed the keys multiple times to see if there was a working combination. I read somewhere that I should change BUse joystick=1 to BUse joystick=0 in the Oblivion_Default.ini so I did, but it didn't help anything. Any other possible things it could be? First: don't change anything in the oblivion_default.ini. This is the file Oblivion uses to establish starting parameters...change it back!! Second:: locate the file oblivion.ini in ...\documents\mygames\oblivion and change busejoystick=1 to busejoystick=0. this will cause Oblivion to reconfigure correctly. Brady13
Okay, I switched the "BUse joystick=0" back to "BUse joystick=1" in Oblivion_Default.ini and changed "BUse joystick=1" to "BUse joystick=0" in Oblivion.ini, but I still can't turn and move at the same time. /: Is it supposed to be this way? Hickory
No, it's not. Go back to your \Documents\My Games\Oblivion\oblivion.ini and delete it. Once you have done that, restart the game from OblivionLauncher.exe, reset any options and start the game again. If you still can't move when turning, something is most likely grabbing your key inputs. Make sure that you quit every single program that's not essential, including those in your system tray, when you play.
