please help

i do not know why but everytime i try to sit anywhere, be it mod or vanilla oblivion, my charcter just stands there and looks at the seat then stands next to it. he acts like he is sitting (unable to move or attack) but he is just standing there. it was no problem for a while but recently it has gotten really irritating with quests that require me to sit. (the quest still works but it just looks messed.) is there any way to resolve this?

This sounds like a bug encountered in the final thieves guild quest in which your character in unable to sit down and cannot do any actions. If you have knight of the nine you may have to load without it. If you have KOTN, you may want to download the unofficial patch: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5296

 

Perhaps you should also post your load order and state more about your game and the problem.

error obviously lies in items 2 and 5

uninstall all of item 2

and all of item 5

then see if the problem goes away

 

if it doesn't

 

re-read post #2 in this thread and follow all available advice before continuing

Is your character sitting or standing at an obscure angle to the chair, or stands in a hopeless fashion! Have you just tried out an animation mod that is still bugging your open game? If so, you need to track back to that particular animation posing mod and reset that particular pose! Good Luck Zapata!

nvm i fixed it. it turns out i still had a patch for see you sleep on when i had disabled the mod itself.
