Incomudro
Although potions are very usefull during long battles, alchemy however is not. The main problem is that regular potions are strong enough, especially because you can drink lots of them during a fight.A mod that make two to four changes would solve the issue of alchemy not being very usefull:- Disable eating food during combat.- Restrict drinking potions to only 1 potion every two (or five) seconds during combat. The player gets a timer,- (optional) Make regular potions slightly less strong (like healing 6 instead of 8 points) and remove the ultimate restore potions.- (optional) Decreases the price of potions to prevent the player to use it as a gold mine.Especially the restriction of only being able to drink 1 potion every two to five seconds during combat will make minor potions useless very fast. It also increases the usefulness of potions with multiple effects, like a potions that fortifies magicka and resotre magicka at the same time, or potions that resotre both health and stamina. As you cannot drink two potions at once, a potion with multiple effects become a lot more usefull. Two questions:- Does this sounds like a nice idea to introduce some balencing (and good enough for someone to pick up this idea) ?- Are there already good alternative mods that make potions less unbalencing while making alchemy more usefull? GrimyBunyip
You can use GUISE to implement potion cooldowns and toxicity. The exact settings for either can be tweaked in the mcm menu: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/67659/? As for the potion magnitudes, you can use skytweak for that.
