Hey everyone,

first of all sry for my bad english

After a long time not Modding/playing Fallout3/nv i was excited to reinstall the game. So i do is install it and install my musthave mods (like nmc texture, ambient wasteland 2 and all the importent programs for the mods etc etc etc)

But none of the mods work?! i go to the data folder and dont saw that all the folder like Meshes, sounds,Textures are compressed in .bsa files. I have over 4 years of experience in modding fallout3 and install the game often (you know it self too much modding  ) but i never saw that the game install in .bsa files.

I google my problem but found something but is not helped me.

I decompressed the .bsa files in the data folder but it also not helped.

hope some one can help me.

Thanks alot and again sry for this terrible english.

BSA, (Bethesda Softworks Archive) comes with Bethesda games since 2002 (Morrowind) and is the way their games install.

There is no Textures - Meshes originally in the Data folder for a Vanilla game.

If you want to add mods, you simply create the needed folders manually. From there, the different mod managers will find their way.

If you want a total control, install mods manually...

BSA files are Bethesda's default files, this keeps the basic game files from suffering from any corruption while you mod your game. Mods come in Textures, Meshes, etc folders; these folders will automatically load before the things in BSA files (this allows you to install a replacer type mod without losing the original meshes and needing to do a complete reinstall - to return to defaults all you need to do is remove the replacer's files and the originals will load again from the BSA).

When you install mods, they come packaged in the correct folder structure already (already in a data/textures or a data/meshes etc structure) all you need do is copy paste them to the correct location and they will created the folders you're missing in a clean install.

Basically: you're fine, nothing's wrong (yet) mod as usual.
