FO3 crashing when leveling up.

I just started modding and now the games crashes when i try to confirm a perk after leveling up. I only have a couple mods active, but a few more I installed to try.

 

I am using Nexus Mod Manager to manage my mods. I use it to launch FO3 via FOSE. I have used FO3Edit to make a merged patch file, and I have activated the ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated exe. I also manually edited the fallout.ini to make bInvalidateOlderFiles=1.

 

I have tried disabling mods sequentially to try to root out a cause, but it happens anytime even 1 mod or even DLC is enabled.

Does not crash when only FO3 base game is run, using either base game to run or FOSE to run, but any addon causes the crash

Update.

 

I uninstalled, re-downloaded, and reinstalled FO3 fresh with steam, launched game through steam. No mods. Just DLC. Have Game of the year edition. Leveled up, game crashed. Level 17.

 

Running Windows 10 by the way.

The game crashes when leveling up. No other mods or addons. Fresh install and launching from steam. I think (but not 100% sure) I had leveled up before with mods and the DLC enabled, it just started now.

it does not crash when leveling up.

could it be a problem with Anchorage? I think this is the first level I gained with items earned from completing that DLC.

Did you ever get this worked out? I'm going to start a thread of my own if I can't work it out, but I'm in a similar situation, and I've _almost_ exhausted everything I know to throw at it.

Sorry, I have not. I'm just gonna go with the "it's a Windows 10 issue" excuse for now.

I've been slowly troubleshooting it occasionally, but I've been playing other games. I will provide updates that I think would be relevant.

Have you tried level up freeze fixes for FWE MMM OA DLC ver 2 by delamer?

I just finished playing Farcry 3 and thought I would take another shot at fixing Fallout 3. I tried that mod by delamer just now, but it caused the game to crash on launch. So I thought I would search for similar mods, with keywords like "patch", or "fix". This mod by Yukichigai seems to have solve my issue. I just leveled up, selected my perk, and I'm on my merry way. Thanks everyone!
