EnticeMods
So, I upgraded to Windows 10 and I'm starting to like it, but I noticed a nasty issue that has me thinking about rolling back to 7. Basically, when I try to add any topics or conditions in a quest.... the columns are squished all the way to 0 on the left. Dragging them out works until I close the Window. Open it again, and the topics are again squished. This could make modding complex dialogue/quests incredibly annoying. Has anyone found a fix for this issue? If I don't get an answer soon, I will have to roll back. :\
luthienanarion
This is not a Windows 10 issue. It's caused by one of the Visual C++ redistributable updates, and it occurs on Windows 8 as well. The problem lies with the GECK and not with Windows. EnticeMods
Strange thing, is that it did not occur with Windows 10 and an update for the GECK is extremely unlikely. Any way to fix this? Maybe reverting back to an old version of C++? Edit: So I attempted to uninstall the GECK, removed all the .ini files from Documents, removed every version of visual C++, re-installed just the GECK, opened and I get the same exact issue. Re-installed 2008 from a copy found on the Nexus, same issue. I doubt it is a Visual C++ issue. Edited September 15, 2015 by EnticeMods

spartenkiller897
I have this same issue! and I've yet to find a solution. What could be causing this?
dubiousintent
Please don't "necro" old threads. Did you install FNV to the default location under the "C:\Program Files" tree? That will prevent your GECK settings from "sticking" (among other things). See the "Installing Games under Windows Vista+" article in my signature for the explanation and how to move your game. If that doesn't fix it, please start a new thread and tell us what you have tried. -Dubious- Edited December 12, 2016 by dubiousintent
JoKelly
From what I read about the issue a while back, the problem is because of a windows update. I don't remember which one or have the link. I found it last year when searching for an answer myself. in essence you have to find which update and roll back before it, reload your old windows (I wouldn't but thats me) or just deal with it, which ended up being my solution. on the whole it doesn't slow down my quest work by any real margin, GECK's many flaws provides enough frustration that this one is minor by comparison. Sorry I know thats not what you wanted to hear, but at least your not married to my ex demon in law. oops sorry didn't notice this was a dead thread LOL Edited December 12, 2016 by JoKelly
Mktavish
So no solution as of yet then ? ... just suck it up and deal with it ? I'd say it deserves a sticky in the Geck thread then.
