SoVvM makes NPC's hate me...

I'm putting the final touches on my shop mod, and have given it to my first beta tester to look through. When he loaded the mod up and went into the store, all the NPC's will smile and give a normal greeting (the type they give in passing, not when you actually talk to them), but when you try to talk to them, their lips will move but they have no voice, and the subtitle comes up as [This character has nothing to say to you...]. We deactivated a bunch of mods and it went back to normal, and then started reactivating some one by one, and found that the culprit was The Lands of Solstheim Vvardenfell and Mournhold - SoVvM br1. And we can't figure out why. Has anyone else had this problem?

Total shot in the dark here, but could it be that the mod in question disables vanilla races? Usually when NPCs loose their dialoge and voice their race has been set to non - playable.

From the description:

"Q: Why can't I talk to some NPCs?

A: Disposition, Personality and Charm mechanics are not meant to be ignored anymore. If people don't like you this will happen."

I don't like The Lands of Solstheim Vvardenfell and Mournhold - SoVvM br1. It is like this big construction zone where all the things you expect to be there aren't, and the few things that are there don't work. (It likes to crash too.) I played the Vvardenfell part for a couple of hours and then gave up and removed the mod from my system.

That's what irks me. It has the potential to be a fantastic mod, but... it isn't. Yet. And I personally don't like how it added the Morrowind versions of the birthsigns on top of the vanilla Oblivion ones.

At any rate, I know what to warn people about!

There's a LOT of confusion in this topic so I'm going to clear it up.

We don't override birthsigns, they are optional Morrowind equivalents.

We don't override vanilla races either.

SoVvM adds a "[This character has nothing to say to you...]" GREETING, the point was to permanently override the "I HAVE NO GREETING". We simply didn't like the text or the CAPS. :) We have a lot of non-playable races like Rieklings and such and something had to be done about them. Although uncommon, we take into account that any NPC can be talked to with enough Charm and we don't want players to see "I HAVE NO GREETING" under any circumstances.

However, it is a LOW priority dialog. It's set to 1. The only way it can possibly override your custom dialog is if it's set it to 0 or 1. So set it to a more reasonable value.

Q": Why can't I talk to some NPCs?

A: Disposition, Personality and Charm mechanics are not meant to be ignored anymore. If people don't like you this will happen."

Okay, let's make this clear, this is NOT why you see "[This character has nothing to say to you...]". You will only get this message if you attempt to Charm and talk to special hostile non-playable races such as Rieklings. In br2, you'll also get the same message if you attempt to certain NPCs like bandits in Morrowind, but they will still react if you're a werewolf or vampire. This will NOT affect bandits in Cyrodiil or any custom bandits you might make, unless they're an unplayable race and have no dialog of their own with a priority of at least 2.
