Hello, I apologize if this has already been answered. I have installed 60.14v and it keeps unchecking my Skyrim.esm & Update.esm in my load order. Is this supposed to happen or have I done something wrong? When I start my game they are checked and I get a ctd, then I have to restart NMM. Please help,

Thank You,

Madison

just want to thank you for the useless update. Now my Skyrim does not even load anymore.

After 3 years of playing and modding with about 200 mods I did reach a fairly stable situation. Now I have no other option than to uninstall everything..

Sad indeed.

I was anyway wondering why anyone believed uninstalling mods in such an unstable environment would bring any improvement...

but most of all I wonder why there was no initial warning (at least I don't recall any) such as "this update will require you to uninstall and reinstall all of your mods, do you wish to continue?"

Cheers

Cheers KunoMochi, I had not updated NMM for quite a long time, in fact I cannot recall an offer of "NMM setting categories" for me on any previous install, I've been a great fan of FMM and FNVMM for many years, that's rather obvious as the games they worked with are old. After it became NMM I found I had more issues with it and only used it for FOMOD based Mods where I wanted the choices of an install menu, so this installation of V6.0 on a brand new PC after carefully backing up the correct NMM folders rather threw me.

Taking the offered Option to let NMM set categories was a new one for me hence my comments here in regard to the poor performance of that particular function, others may not (or might have) already changed to using categories from earlier versions. I was just offering an observation that for someone new to letting NMM set mod categories the results where extremely disappointing. Not a huge issue maybe but a warning to others who may not have tried it yet that it is not 100% accurate and IMO if your happy enough without it do not activate it.

PS: Obviously after making preparations for a clean move to a new game PC adding the new NMM at the same time and making the mistake of selecting categories was not a wise choice.

No hateful feelings here, just fear. I have 250 mods loading currently, and have also hand-placed quite few files, and some mods have been strategically overwritten by file, not by folder or mod. My fear is that upgrading to .60 will cause chaos.

Question then: how does the upgrading process work, exactly? Will it copy the active files and restore them, or does it unintsall and then reinstall the mods? The latter won't work for me.

Will the new versions have the ability to interchange ini files with their mods? I have different ini's for different versions of the same games? I like TTW so I have a ttw ini and a regular FNV ini. But at that same token I also like to save profiles using different ini configurations. I like to experiment.

bippyg, the 0.60.x and later versions of NMM will require you to uninstall then reinstall your mods so that they can be properly settled with the new file structure. You will be given the option to cancel upon initial start up, if you so choose to revert back to 0.56.1 or older versions of NMM without it touching your mods.

charliemc, INI edits made by scripted installers for individual profiles are currently supported, but saved games are not. I would suggest you back up your INI files just in case, if you want to test it out.

Report any problems to the NMM Bug Reports forum if you encounter any issues with it. :)
