JakeCWolf Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Title says it all, I don't like the high res textures despite thinking I would now I want to remove them but simply unchecking the box doesn't do anything. Other people seem to have had the same problem, but I can't find a single conclusive answer on how to fix this. I even did a clean reinstall, for unrelated reasons and it just downloaded the DLC all other again, despite me leaving it unchecked. Read that you can start Steam in offline mode then start Skyrim offline as well and that will make all the textures load as normal and no high res, but that didn't work, I've always heard I need to contact Steam and have them remove the content from my account to fix it that way, but that will be at least a week of waiting, there's got to be another way, right? Any feedback would be appreciated.

You can copy your steam skyrim installation directory to somewhere else (not controlled by steam), do what you like with it, and launch the exe from that copied version. If you leave the original in place steam will think its up to date (I use skse/MO which may or may not also be necessary).
