Denisowator
So I haven't touched a single NPC in my entire life, unless it was quest business. Anyway had a s#*! ton of potions to sell, and I kept coming back and forth between the Jarl's mage and Arcadia (Whiterun). I eventually leveled up so I decided to get the perk that allows you to sell anything to anyone. And so I went to Belethor since he would have a s#*! ton of money by now, considering I haven't visited him ever since I finished all the quests in Whiterun. Except for the bounties of course. But when i came to his store, it was locked. I forgot there was a back door so I waited until 9AM... It was still closed. Then I went to the back door and unlocked it.... there was no one inside except for my followers! I did a little searching and found a command to teleport myself to him. I went to a save when he was still there, clicked on him while the command console was open, returned to the newest save, and teleported to him. I arrived at a purple/green ancient nord style tunnel with 2 empty coffins glitched into eachother, a huge pile of dead nude bodies in the middle, 4 empty holes at the end of each corridors that lead me to fall and I needed to use "tcl". There was also a living guy standing ther with just your average "I'm a person and I can talk when you press E on me" speech. I can't remember the name, but I remember he was a Dark Elf. Among the pile were all the guys I killed at Markarth, which were basically the crazy Forsworn residents I met in a quest. And there was of course good old Belethor, lying right on the top of the teleporting naked guys' orgy. (I'll be shocked if anyone gets that reference) I've heard about this place and saw it in a video about creppy easter eggs in Skyrim. And also in some other posts and topics on other Skyrim related sites with people having the same exact issue with the same exact guy. Anyway I just decided to go back to the newest save, and resurrect him (I did this both ways. First resurrect him, and resurrect him after I spawned him. Just to be sure. I did the second one after restarting the save again). After he was back at his store, there was no option for him to show me what he has for sale. I've tried EVERYTHING everyone else suggested to eachother. Which hasn't worked for them either. I reset his AI, changed his friendlyness towards me, set him as the owner, etc. The only thing I haven't yet tried is messing around the editor with his "shop chest"? or something.... I didn't understand any of what the guy was saying to the topic started. Mainly because I had no idea if he was talking about the CK or something else, and where I would find that chest or something to set him back as the owner, instead of a command... But as I said before, nothing worked! D;> SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!! D;> The only NPC in the game that seems real, by telling his jokes and reacting to them, by knowing they were inappropriate, and stuff. Is unable to trade with me. Just becaue the decided to make him disappear and appear in the waiting room to Oblivion. Also there wasn't ever a single dragon attacking any of the cities. Since i immidiately killed them with the command before they killed anyone. And just in case Belethor ever went outside (I mean I saw a little kid from Whiterun, walking outside the walls. So who knows.), I did the same, and Thus Ro Dahed their bodies away from the cities, revived them, and thought them normally. PLEASE HELP! I DON'T WANT A RETARDED BELETHOR THAT DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO DO HIS JOB!!!! D;>
Jannifer
The problem is that when Belethor was killed, however that happened, and you respawned him, his merchant script didn't restart. The game still thinks Belethor is dead. The only way to fix this is to uninstall the merchant mod and go back to a save from before you installed it. Anything else you can do is only going to make matters worse, as you've discovered. Good luck! :)

Denisowator
So... There's no hope? Will Bethesda never get their s*** together. Cause so far they left 3 games filled with bugs and glitches that seriously break the game. Will I just have to never visit whiterun and choose another city to do my grocieries? thaimexico
A couple of months ago both Belethor and the nice forge lady both disappeared. (I thought maybe they were getting married . . .). They came back for a few days but have now disappeared again. Also, a NEW forge master appeared between the castle and the Companions building. No clue why. Unless, there is a conflict with one of the mods I put in. None of them are about merchants. Only new lands to visit.
