Embedded Weapon issue

That's interesting, and I'll think about it... but I probably won't end up doing it. I'm working on AWOP and I don't want to include any assets with it, I would go nuts on it if I did and use all kinds of modders resources but I think that's against Dj's intentions.

 

That being said, is there any other weapons that use the same AttackSpin as the flamer weapon do you know off hand? I can't think of any.

 

I swear I've seen Gecko's shoot spit balls too, but I can't find any weapon for that or any modified Gecko's records.

 

The Honest Hearts Geckos spit poison or radiation can't recall. Think they are called Green geckos? I was looking around thinking of other Creatures with ranged and checked out the bloatfly. It uses default attack anim that might be something to look into?

Yeah I'm using bloatflies in another area, ahh the joys of modding and making yourself work with limitations.

 

I'll try to find some solution, that works.

 

Can you give me a pointer on what to look for in the anims to see what possible weapons can be used?

Any of the 1hp, 2hr, 2hl attack anims (right, left, loop, spin) is what I know from my tinkering. Though the Bloatfly threw me off with default attack anim so those are the ones I know.

You could try and make a copy of the ant fire weapon but set it to use the spit ball projectile instead. Then try altering the fire rate of the weapon so you don't end up with a steady stream of spit balls.

 

I'll try that, thanks. I'll give you a mention if it works because that will be great, and will also allow me to make other weird vanilla creature variations. :D

Wow. For giggles I looked at the green gecko weapon, it has the highest DPS I've seen of any vanilla weapons. 1110 DPS! @.@ You could use that it has attack spin like fireants. I don't know myself how the clip size works with embedded weapons for enemies but would reducing it to 1 from 24 have a desired effect I wonder?

I'll use it when I make AWOP for HH, the base AWOP only requires Base NV. It's difficult working under these constraints... I really would like to use things from the other DLC's many times already, but I can't. I like the challenge though, it's kind of fun.

The beauty of it, it looks like the HH gecko's use base game files for their spit attack.

Also, it works! Thanks for you help. It was the "Is Automatic" flag apparently. I have to adjust the rate of fire a bit, and I created some new object effects so the projectiles actually do some damage, but other than that it's working great.

 

Now I can create lots of weird vanilla creature variants. :D

Awesome! Should give Fireants a napalm spit that encumbers the player for a few seconds while they are in the fire radius! I would so love and hate that!
