Skyrim CTD In Certain areas in Game (Right Outside Solitude Recently)

So I been playing Skyrim again with a few different mods active, I used to play it with Hundreds without any issues, however recently I found an issue where wondering into certain areas of the game will just directly crash my game to desktop without any warning.

This has happened most recently when wondering towards solitude for a quest that takes place outside of it, I am very lost and unsure as to what is going on, any help would be great!

I also have a couple of texture mods such as 2K Textures and bloodback and wonder if those could be causing it?

I don't see anything that modifies Solitude at a first glance. You mention 2K texture pack, are you experiencing and lag spikes or purple textures before the crash?

 

Does this happen if you run vanilla skyrim, make a new game and roam in the same area?
Standard checklist : did you run LOOT, check for potential incompatibilities (as well as patches if available), try loading a previous save, made a new game and still experienced the issue.

I have had insta-CTDs when wandering round Solitude and also a certain area near Dragonreach and an abandoned hut somewhere. I've also had crashes when openig a particular container or looting an animal body.

 

All I could do was save often and avoid those areas until it went away. Hard to say what causes it: mods, too many added spawn points, baked-in errors, ferocious ini tweaks, who knows? Perhaps the cells clearing and respawning fixed it, or some change I made to the game, or perhaps it was a different game with a different character, but I really don't know.

 

It was on the road going up the hill towards Solitude. If I skirted round to the right into the wilderness area and tried to get to the beach that way it would crash. If I went further up the hill and then down the road to the beach, it was fine. But it was always the exact, same spot.

CTDs in specific areas can be related to mods, texture packs or plainly to your system giving up due to high memory usage.

I've just walked into a "black hole" on the area surrounding Orotheim. No matter which way I seem to approach it - CTD! Even invoking fast travel takes me straight back to my desktop after the obligatory pause and load screen diversion. The thing is, I have already been there on a quest and cleared the place and am trying to get back to do another as requested by Morthal's steward for a bounty.

I can get to other parts of Skyrim with my level 56 2h warrior. Guess it's a bug?
