I was wondering when should I start a new save ?

I wanna install: Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul, Elemental Destruction Magic and SkyTEST - Realistic Animals and Predators

Should I start a new game before installing these ?

Hi

No you don't have to start a new game to install these mods but I would test each mod in game and make sure you are happy with them before you save.

What I do and recommend anyone installing any of my mods is this.

1. Before activating a new mod go in game and open the console and type save modxinstalled. Then click enter.

2. Activate the Mod and go in game and try it out. Some mods such as quest mods or new lands mods may be to big to go through in one sitting so if you need to save go ahead and save.

3. If you decide you do not like it, deactivate it and uninstall it.

4. THIS IS IMPORTANT Before going back in game, go to your C:\Users\<Your Name>\Documents\my games\skyrim\Saves folder and delete all the saves back to and including the save you made before installing.

This method removes all traces of the mod, so as not to effect your save files.

They should be fine after install, just follow install instructions. Usually a new save is only needed if you screw up badly or install a gameplay overhaul like Requiem or SkyRE etc, sometimes perk mods can require a new save also, it really depends on how much the mod changes.

If a mod alters the entire mechanic of something (DCO,CWO,BV, Moonlight tales etc) its probably best to create a new save since its changing a LOT.
