InfiniDragon
Hello all, been a while since I've visited the forums but I had a question regarding mod equipment and making it so it does not appear in leveled lists and on random NPCs (basically, only you have access to the item). I found the HDT enabled version of the awesome "Cloaks of Skyrim" mod that makes all the cloaks in that mod have full physics and currently use it. Problem is, the person that made the HDT version did not include a player only version of the mod like the original has, meaning all NPCs have the cloaks with physics too. As you folks are probably all aware, HDT doesn't always play nice with NPCs loading into the world and such and makes it stretch out to infinity, makes the wearer invisible and all sorts of other janky bugs. Therefore, I would like to take it upon myself to take this esp file I have and figure out how to make the cloaks from the mod only accessible to players, so that only I get the sweet cloth physics. I've tried searching the forums, the place where I found the mod and Google for tutorials on how to edit equipment to not be in NPC leveled lists but to no avail. I even tried doing a brute force fix by just taking the meshes from the HDT version and putting the Player Only esp file from the original, but that results in an odd bug where the character is wearing two of the cloak you selected on your back instead of one. If anyone could assist me with getting this done so that I can fully enjoy the mod, I would be greatly appreciative.
Oblivionaddicted
You can do it very easily if you're familiar wit the CS: right-click on the said item, choose "info",remove it from any leveled-list on NPC equipment with the "remove" button. The next part is the way you want the player to get it and there are several options:-you can add it somewhere as-is or in a container-add it in a merchant's chest so the player needs to buy it-add it in the player's inventory when the game starts or after some conditions are met-give it through a dialog are I maybe forgot some. Which one do you prefer?
motarx
There's also a mod called PlayerClothingReplacer that allows you to set a different path for pc clothing/armor vs npc. So you could have physics-enabled cloaks only for player and normal ones for npc. You could also add a script to the item that only allows it to be equipped if the equipper is the player.
