crankvis
Hello, I've purchased a retail copy of FNV back in 2012. It's the "watered down-less violence" german version. (Supposedly) Due to that I've never been able to change the language settings (it would just crash right away when changing the language option per steam and patching the files). Aside from that I couldn't really get any mod to run and had to stick with the vanilla game. A couple of days ago I decided to purchase the 'Ultimate Edition', that one's uncut for germany too, and activated it on steam.I was hoping for it to become a seperate entry in the game library, but all that happened was that the original files got patched.Foreboding, already. I changed the language to 'English' once the download finished and gave it a try - it worked! (Already s***ing my pants in excitement) I went straight to nexusmods to download some of the content I've been missing out of for years. Well: Project Nevada - crashed after the intro sequence/crashed after loading an existing stateNevada Skies - game crashes on launchNew Vegas Bounties - game crashes on launchNVAC New Vegas Anti Crash - game crashes on launch (ironic, isn't it?) Aaaaaaand a couple of other mods that either crash after launch or after the intro sequene/loading a save. I've tried:-NMM, FOMM and manual installation-Individually testing if a singular mod worked (deselect, uninstall, this that and this)-With and without NVSE-Redownloading the game using different language settings Nothing worked out. The issues are essentially connected by this little error screen (Win8): (Basically, what it says is "this s#*! don't work no more") http://i.imgur.com/cEODOcC.jpg?1 Sooooo...do I just give up on playing FNV with mods or is there ANYTHING I could do to fix this mess? iXenite
Maybe try deleting everything to do with New vegas on your PC and then reinstalling the Ultimate Edition. Also, reading some stuff on the Steam Forums seems to suggest that you can contact Steam support and explain your situation and ask them to remove the Cut Content version of New Vegas from your account. This should mean that your Ultimate Edition will be truly Uncut, and won't just patch itself into the Cut Content version of the game. Hope this helps. I wasn't aware that was an option. I just submitted a ticket. I hope this works out, since I already purchased the DLC content individually way back (before buying an actualy copy of the 'Ultimate Edition'), so I can finally play with mods. iXenite
I wish you the best of luck. I really hope everything works out, I know it can be frustrating sometimes dealing with support.
luthienanarion
Run the game without any mods to make sure that it works and is indeed uncut before adding mods to it.
crankvis
Alright, so I contacted steam support and explained the situation. The reply told me to verify the game cache, which I did. Then I ran the game with a mod, which was previously not working, and it didn't crash! So far I'm under the impression that it worked, I'll have to see if it stays that way.
