Yinepuhotep
I know it's not been out for long, but has anyone else run into the problem of, as soon as they install the 1.2 patch from Bethsoft, all of the official content is hosed? I'm talking problems like: 1. Floors in the original buildings are no longer there, and you can look through the walls if you go into a building 2. There are large "no object" diamonds replacing most of the static content in the cities and buildings 3. When you attempt to talk to essential NPCs (the various counts, Martin, etc.), the game crashes My game was running like a charm before I installed the 1.2 patch, but now? It's unplayable. So, has anyone else run into these problems, and if so, have you found work-arounds or fixes for them?
Abramul
Nicely done... Does this occur if you disable all mods, or all unofficial mods?
Yinepuhotep
Nicely done... Does this occur if you disable all mods, or all unofficial mods? Still working on testing that. I have a lot of mods (all of which played well with the 1.1 patch), and at the moment I'm disabling them all to see if it works without ANY mods, then (if it does) I'll start adding them in again until it breaks. Nicely done... Does this occur if you disable all mods, or all unofficial mods? After playing with my mods, I've discovered that the problem is Natural Interiors. Looks like I'll just have to not use it until it's been updated to work with the 1.2 patch. EDIT: Merged your posts. Please don't double post, but use the edit button. Thanks. ^^ - Switch
karkarinus
Thought I'd post this here, rather than starting a nerw thread: I've just installed 1.2, and all the ground textures have gonepurple and have a symbol-thing on them. Screenie. Anyone have any ideas? In the meantime, I'm just going to reinstall from scratch, as mine too was running like a dream before this o_O
Abramul
That's no moon symbol, that's a city! As for WHY it occurs, what map or landscape mods are you running?
karkarinus
Who said moon? Did I say moon? I just said symbol-thing. :P I had a feeling it was the Imperial City map. No, no mods, no nothing just vanilla Bliv. I reinstalled and all is back to normal. I will try again later.... the only thing I can think of is that I was multitasking during the update, but I can't see why that would matter, despite Beth's warning not to. Patch issues are covered at length on the Bethsoft forum - http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=663108 is one thread.Essentially the purple ground is due to either -1. wrong patch 1.2 - do you have the US or UK version of the game and which version patch did you use?2. shaders did not update - patch 1.2 does not like modded shaders. It refuses to update them.
