  1. Just like the above: - cannot reach the nexus login server error on NMM 045 version - guess its a login problem - Use off-line version for two days; until I had time to google it - found this post ;skipped past the whining and moaning to the end - downloaded new version 046 - uninstalled old version; just clicked whatever to the prompts - installed the downloaded exe. - run it and get a login renewal message - logged in and everything is back to normal Cant see what the problem is with some people. The off-line version works fine in the short term
  2. I endorse this fix - it worked for me. I have the Skyrim.ini tweaks from the very early map mod 'World Map in full 3D by Mikanoshi' :: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/145/?tab=2&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D145&pUp=1 It has a set of [mapmenu] ini tweaks which includes "uLockedTerrainLOD=8" (note the spelling). I commented out the line in my ini file and - bang - able to load outside scenes straight from the game start, after months of loading interior scenes first. Have noticed a refinement on the one fix. I have to load recent saves for it to work. Ancient saves from months ago still crash. But one of them worked when I saved it as a NEW save. So my advice is to only insert map tweaks if you know what may happen. There may be other map mods that work. Try the mods endorsed by the STEP project - High Quality 3D Map by Ethatron and A Quality World Map - With Roads by IcePenguin. But keep an eye out for [mapmenu] ini tweaks....
  3. Just wanted to add my experience to the mix. Im using a Sapphire HD 7850 2 GB at high to ultra high settings. Ive loaded all the latest ATI/AMD drivers. Im currently on v12.10. Ive been driven crazy by the tree flickering problem and other graphic artifacts for a week or so in December, when I decided to add ENB to my graphics mods. I was ready to blame Vurts Flora., High defintion LODs, ENB and Realistic Color and Customization mods and have tried all sorts of tweaks. Ive reloaded almost everything EXCEPT the ATI Catalyst driver. Once I googled others with the same issue I was led to this 'ATI Shadow Hotfix by prOPA ' fix. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26225/ Its almost completely removed the problem. Who would have thought a fix for 'shadow' problems with an earlier ATI driver was still a valid fix? Apparently the core .DLL file in the fix is from AMD driver 12.4.... So a windback to the earlier drivers before v12.8 is justified. However, who wants to downgrade just for one game? I have other games I play and dont want to compromise playability and performance. The fix does whats needed for Skyrim. Tags: ATi Radeon trees flickering flashing graphic artifacts distant terrain sky. Oh its not a magic fix-all - I still have texture popping and z-fighting in the distance. But those are unrelated to this driver issue. And no, I dont regret upgrading from Nvidia to a Radeon. I originally had an Nvidia 275GTX - the double-barrelled card. It also comfortably ran Skyrim with max settings and mods. But the Radeon does it so much quieter and cooler.
  4. So what you are describing is a color or palette change that persists after uninstalling and reinstalling the game. The only things that persist after complete uninstall must be Steam and the graphic card profile settings for the game. Is the Steam folder truly deleted? If not then delete the folder and reinstall (check Steam's website about this - Im not sure what the procedure is) Are the graphic card settings deleted? Check the Skyrim C:\Users\*\Documents\My Games folder - is the Skyrim folder still there? I think the key is the Steam folder - its still got the mod file there.
  5. If the 'performance ' versions made no difference, then yes it looks like you are in for the long winded route that I followed - remove half my mods and test; remove the other half of my mods and test; save a save with no mods loaded and test; download some other versions of ENB and test.... long and tedious. I forgot to mention that I already have my Skyrimprefs.ini and Skyrim.ini configuration thoroughly tweaked and I followed all the performance tweaks in STEP - 'Skyrim Total Enhancement Project' Also I found the the Basic FX ENB 1.3 off Nexus to be the best , low impact version of ENB after trying at least three different configs. BTW, I recommend using SKSE. I found using SKSE as the game loader speeded up load times between maps in-game and this definitely helped performance In the end, you may want to cut your losses and try Realistic Lighting instead - no performance impact! Or the most drastic - as you already have an i7 CPU , maybe its time to upgrade your GPU to a GTX 6950 or GTX 570. But thats only a last resort. Good luck!
  6. Hey I loaded ENB for the first time in a while myself two weeks ago. Try the 'performance' versions of ENB. After I loaded ENB, I didnt have as many instant crashes as you, but I certainly had more than before. The stuttering increased and the FPS fell to a new low after install. Sub-20 FRAMES... Before ENB, I used Realistic Lighting with an FXAA injector. Success with that sucked me into going to the next level. I found in the end that I had to install the high performance version of ENB - ANY ENB - to get close to my earlier performance. This means the non-SSAO; non-DOF version of Superb ENB-RL that you find in the options folder in the mod download. You can also get non-SSAO only or non-DOF only versions. Try them out. Also check carefully for stray files left over from RCRN, as you had to remove the esp file : (why it was still there I don't know). For me, the FXAA injector I had left files all over the place. Finally, start turning off and on other lighting mods: Warmer Magic Lights; Lanterns Of Skyrim (obsolete?); Dynavision; Imaginator ... those last two may not be compatible with ENB; Superb ENB-RL or Realistic Lighting . Check their readmes or websites. Also DropLitTorches may have scripted animation effects that conflict with some bloom effect or other in ENB or RL. After things improved with the 'performance' Superb ENB-RLversion, I moved onto other 'performance' ENB configs on Nexus until I found the perfect (for me) mix of FPS, color palette, lighting and shadowing. I kept Realistic Lighting, but Im using the straight RL default download from Nexus, not the Superb ENB-RLversion or the one I had before... In all, a week of after-work experimentation and tweaking. Hope you have it easier....
  7. I think you mean version SKSE 1.4.09 beta. Silverlock.org doesnt have a version 1.4.10 at the time of this post.
  8. Start here I use 7-zip - its free. And then run through Installing mods for Oblivion and Fallout 3 which are linked on that same webpage. They use basically the same engine as Skyrim. Its the best you can do since there doesnt seem to be a Wiki for Skyrim Mods yet. Of course, every modder gives install instructions either on the Nexus download site for their mod or in a readme inside the zip/rar file.
  9. Heres another High quality pack - this time it covers the armors: HRezTextures http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=621 I use it myself and it does sharpen up the plain vanilla armors. But it doesnt cover the normal maps and the modder doesnt seem to be updating it anymore. So this may be a better alternative armor pack from a prolific modder: Josef Grey's Vanilla Armor Expansion v1.01 http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1891
  10. Heres a decent hiresolution pack that looks properly documented: High Res textures v3.x www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=481 Covers a lot of the vanilla weapons which makes it useful for a complete texture pack like yours.
