SI Bugs

Apparently, an FF* FormID is being used each frame. This occurs even if you start a new game and never touch the SI content. Since there is a limited range fir savegame FormIDs, this is a major problem that will cause an affected savegame to become unplayable. Uninstall SI, and set your current savegame aside until this is fixed.

*FF IDs denote references created during the course of a savegame.

 Holy crap! I didnt know there were any problems this serious. Would it even be posible to fix semething like that?

I don't know if it means anything but before I used the bug fix I had strange browny-orange lines emerging from the heads of those in the IC Waterfront area around Dareloth's garden (not the pirate ship side). After I applied the fix they vanished too.

Just found another very anoying bug. A gaurd arrested me just out side Bravil. I choose to pay the fine, but after the loading screen, instead of being out side of Bravil Castle i found myself in Crucibule. Not only did this disrupt the quest i was on, but it triggered that annoying "I have no greeting" bug. I dont think I can wait untill Bethesda releases a patch for SI.

In SI, There are some trees that are floating near where you first enter SI. After you talk to the man in the house made of butterflies (holy poo that was cool.. do it again BTW THX.) 2 trees right near eachother. Also I was refered to as the incorrect gender once in a dialog, but, since it's voice acting, it probly isn't worth it to fix it. Maybe that part could be cut out and it would still make sense... idk.

Anyway, I hate it when the gender of my character is refered to (especially in the audio dialog), or when NPC's flirt with me. I liked in Oblivion Vanilla how my gender was never refered to. You know, I got my game volume cranked up loud, and some wanna-be pimp breton calls me honey or something, or some perverted orc starts saying how cute I look in whatever I am wearing, and starts flirting, it's really uncomfortable.

Yeah, after I finished the main quest line for SI, I decided to clear my bounty, and turn myself in.

Some of the loading screens for SI says something like, "there is no prison on the SI, criminals are dumped in a dungeon, and if they survive, they are considered free and no longer have a bounty"

Well so, I had three options from the Golden Saint (guard)

1)Pay gold

2)go with guard

3)fight guards

I choose option 2, figuring that could be the only option where I could try to clear my name through this dungeon or whatever. If I escaped, then my bounty is erased right?

Not how it worked out. It went to a loading screen, and I ended up at the palace garden or whatever.

I don't know if thats a bug, maybe I should have tried option 1 before posting.. maybe thats how you get to this dungeon (or whatever it is) they mention on 1 of the loading screens. It just sounded like what you were talking about, sorry if I've wasted anyone's time.

Once I figure out a way around the dialog editing problems I plan to fix this... It's just silly, if you could point me to the dialogues in question, I could take a look and see if it can be fixed. With some that I've found, just the gender check looks to be broken. I'm hoping that this is just a remainder from the last time it was tested (can understand it if they had a male character, but wanted to verify the dialogues work, and didn't want to bother with "show race menu" (ok, maybe I don't understand)), or just one of the dev's jokes.

I was sent to prison from both Crucible and Bliss so I could clear out the jails (Aichan and Corpserot Passage). They both worked fine for me.

On the gender issue, it is not a bug. The Dark Crusaders refer to you as a Duchess (if you choose to take her out rather than Thadon) because to suggest they were ruled by a man would be beneath their dignity. Men are regarded as next to useless in their society (their dialogue in Pinnacle Rock, Cylarne and Passwall makes this abundantly clear).

Also all the characters in Bliss and Crucible are mad. Who knows how the Orc smith sees you? Yes, it makes him sound 'gay' if you are a male character and ' a lech' if you are female. It's part of the humour of the game. Why edit out the uniqueness of the place? He's certainly no creepier than the other smith! (Cutter is one of my favourite characters in the game!)

I can however point to what seems to be a genuine bug. In theory you can revisit most dungeons. As with Oblivion, monsters and loot level with you and as almost all the museum 'oddities' are randomly generated you'll probably have to revisit several if you want to finish that quest. There is a problem however with Ebrocca. First visit, when you enter the room with the Bosmer creater of the dungeon the door slams shut behind you and there is no way out. You have to face the hostile madman. After you kill him there is a flash and he is resurrected again. At the same time the walls open to reveal a new exit. The door remains locked and opened only from outside, so you have to follow the new route. If you return to this part of dungeon on a later visit the Bosmer is back and the same thing starts to happen. You get locked in with him. HOWEVER when you kill him this time there is no flash, no resurrection, the walls do not move and the door stays locked. AFAIK the only way to get out is to use the console command 'tcl' to walk through the walls.

Unless this was a one-off for me, THIS would be a bug worth fixing.

Looks like a variable in his script isn't being reset once the player is out of the area. While it should technically be reset when he respawns after a few days, I guess this isn't the case. As I havn't quite gotten to that point, I don't know what would define the player as being past where they could go back.

But you are correct with the orc, aparently that's just his dialogue, while there does seem to be one bad condition, but as it still fires properly, doesn't need to be fixed. SE 10 just looks bugged though, despite your explaination, there are seperate results for duke/duchess, but both are set to check if the player is male.

I think you misunderstood. I should have been more clear, I am a male, and was playing a female character when that happened. So it wasn't a bug when they flirt with my character, it was just wierd, especially when in the first person view.

Thinking back, I can't remember being called the wrong gender anymore. It was probably part of the Shivering Isles main questline.
