TylerX5 Posted October 20, 2015 Share Posted October 20, 2015 (edited) At some point I realized that picking up processed materials is just a boring grind and materials can be obtain through quicker means (i.e. combat deployment with time reduction mods). More importantly collecting them has no meaningful impact on what's going around you. I think having items and weapons to collect would make for a much more interesting experience when you're going into an area OSP style (an empty loadout). As of right now I find that going into a camp to be more risk than it's worth simply because once you take away Fultons and have an abundance of resources from Combat Deployments there isn't anything interesting about camps. Now if each camp had 1 random item (maybe just a cardboard box, a sniper rifle... or perhaps a new secret stealth camo infiltration device?!). This would also allow previously over powered items (Such as the stealth camo) a chance to feel fair. After all you took the risk of getting the item, you earned it! To put it another way MGSVanilla encourages you to start any given situation with an over abundance of powerful options, this mod (along with Infinite Heaven's empty loadout) would encourage you to take risks to potentially gain a powerful option although there is no guarantee. Perhaps we could even upgrade the guards at a post as the item goes up in power (or stars as in the game) This is also in a way continuing the spirit of MGSGZ, since OSPing items was an interesting part of that game. tinmantex Posted October 25, 2015 Share Posted October 25, 2015 That's the eventual plan, however it's a ways down the road since it involves an entire system I haven't researches too much yet (item spawning/the whole entitiy data system), an have other features I want to work on first.
