Wolfmod
I'm returning to the Witcher 3 after a break doing other things and haven't played since version 1.04 (I think). Back then I went mod mad installing quite a few mods. My download history at Nexus tells me I've downloaded 9 mods but when I installed a new version of NMM it told me I had 3 (now deactivated). This was to be expected since despite Redkit's claims, The Witcher 3 was never mod friendly with a dozen and one ways to install mods and certain folders and files getting overwritten leaving no record of what you have. So, I have two questions: Will Gog's Verify/Repair return my game to its original vanila state so that I may start again with mods that work with version 1.11? And, has any headway been made (or is there a tool available) to order and list the active mods in my game. This "overwrite content0" and similar methods has spots on it and it is very clear that not all mods use NMM. Any clarification here will be truly appreciated. Aurielius
If you are going to upgrade to the current Version V-1.11 from v-1.04, I would recommend a complete de-install and delete anything left in the Witcher folder then download a clean install. Upgrades sometimes leave extraneous files especially in a heavily modded game. Post V-1.08 almost all mods can be NMM installed, there have been practically no quickbins installed mods since ModKit came out. Hope this helps. Drone456
We have very different versions of mad :D I'm assuming that the reason there's a discrepancy between NMM and Nexus's download history, is probably due to them either being out of date, or you downloaded them manually and NMM didn't process them. So, I have two questions: Will Gog's Verify/Repair return my game to its original vanila state so that I may start again with mods that work with version 1.11? More than likely not from my own personal tests. When I wanted to try returning to vanilla. I also decided to try repairing/verifying with GoG Galaxy. However it didn't seem to revert any settings I changed (such as custom keybindings), nor did it replace any of my modified .bundles. Maybe I was a special case, and it normally does this (or they've updated it), but I would sincerely recommend just purging everything and reinstalling the game from scratch. That way nothing problematic/weird remains somewhere in there. Meaning also manually going in after the uninstall and deleting folders/files as well, just to make sure. And, has any headway been made (or is there a tool available) to order and list the active mods in my game. This "overwrite content0" and similar methods has spots on it and it is very clear that not all mods use NMM. Honestly as far as I am aware, there is no other tool to organize your mods other than NMM. Which works quite well in my opinion (make sure you're updated to the newest version), also even if a mod doesn't use NMM initially. You can apparently still add it manually so that it's archived in NMM for easier management (I personally don't do this, but perhaps you might). As for "overwriting content0", that doesn't happen anymore thankfully. Instead all mods seem to use the "modNAMEHERE" format, which also helps sorting how many mods you have since all of them will be in your "Mods" folder. For the mods that don't use NMM (which seem very few and far between), they still do use the "modNAMEHERE" format. They're just not downloaded/installed with NMM. Any clarification here will be truly appreciated. Hopefully that clarified things for ya man. Let me know if it didn't; Or anybody else feel free to chime in if I happen to be wrong. Good luck modding man  P.S. You might want Script Merger if you're planning on using multiple mods. It makes it a helluva lot easier to make them compatible. Wolfmod
Thanks both of you. Drone, you brought out a chuckle in me. You're right, 9 isn't mad and I had over 190 in Skyrim. However, given the total cluster^^^^ that is Witcher 3 modding like "overwrite the file you just overwrote with your last mod, run this bat file and pray to god" I thought 9 was quite adventurous. The discrepancy between what NMM shows and what I've downloaded (also remembering that I downloaded one or two from other web sites as well) is due mostly to the fact that few mods back then could be installed by NMM or were even recognised by NMM. As an aside, in preparation for the launch of Fallout 4, I bought Fallout 3 and Fallout NV, modded them and have been playing them with the aid of LOOT, GECK, FOEdit, FNVEdit and other mod authoring/troubleshooting and organising tools that didn't come with the promise that Redkit made... shame on you Redkit. I'll try deleting the ini files along with "Content" and then do a repair. I live in Australia and we have a limited monthly download allowance and its not that fast either. And pray. Drone456
 Yeah I guess considering how modding was, it might be a bit more appropriate calling it mad. I think I had around that number as well (now I have like 70-80 of the bastards lol). To be fair it's not Redkit's fault, since we don't have Redkit . It's just their "modkit", which is a little frustrating since they promised to have a Redkit 2 for Witcher 3. Other websites for mods? Nonsense! Hopefully now any mods you download should be archived properly within NMM. As for Fallout 4, I think it will be amazing too (bit nervous on some aspects). Have you played Fallout 3, and New Vegas before? Or are you just buying them again so you can build anticipation more? I personally like to not play things similar to something just before it comes out, since it makes it feel more fresh to me. Ah that sucks man, I hate download caps. Had one here in America too (was like 100gb, which is nothing considering the age we live in), thankfully don't anymore. Good luck/have fun modding man, hopefully whatever god you might pray to (I would suggest Sigmar since Vermintide just came out, and he's probably more on hand) answers those prayers.
