Fallout 3 Mods not working.

Evidently you do not have any load sorter installed correctly. Neither BOSS nor LOOT would have generated the list you provided.

Load Order

Fallout3.esm

Anchorage.esm

ThePitt.esm

StreetLights.esm

BrokenSteel.esm

PointLookout.esm

Zeta.esm

Unofficial Fallout3 Patch.esm

These files must always be in this order. Always!

Mods with multiple plugins should always be in the same order.

Do not use LOOT to sort Fallout 3 mod files. It does not order them correctly.

If the game is installed in "Program Files", you will have problems with anything that changes the fallout3.exe. Something like FOSE.

Since you have a game downloaded from Steam, there are instructions on Steam on how to change the install location.

Also, you need to remember that there were no mods when Fallout 3 was developed and you might have a problem getting through the first part of the game with mods and DLCs active.

I ran into that problem with a new install of Fallout 3 and corrected it by disabling all my mods and going through the vault and making a save just before exiting the vault tunnel. I then activated my mods and proceeded into the wasteland.

I then made a save just outside the tunnel door. This way I had a save in the tunnel where I could change my character and another if I wanted to just start a new game.

Did you also follow this guide? Highly recommended. https://steamcommunity.com/app/22370/discussions/0/828937546147175081/

Especially the .ini changes. My Fallout gets an insta-crash without.

  • Edit with notepad:
  • My Documents\my games\Fallout3\FALLOUT.INI
    or C:\users\yourname\Documents\My Games\Fallout3\FALLOUT.ini
  • This may appear as "FALLOUT" in windows explorer.
  • IMPORTANT: DO NOT EDIT Fallout_default.ini !!! You're in the wrong directory!!!
  • find (control F) bUseThreadedAI=0
  • CHANGE to bUseThreadedAI=1
  • Immediately after this line, ADD this new line:
  • iNumHWThreads=2

I changed the .ini doesn't work. Turned off all my mods. Screen still flickers and then goes to white. Game freezes and i can't do squat besides end it with task manager. This is really really annoying. I only wanted to play Fallout 3 and finish it with a few mods before 4 came out :L .
