dragonbatgo
Hi there. I recently re installed a fresh Fallout 3 GOTY Edition and added just a handful of mods to it. When ever i attempt to start a game the game just freezes on the getting born part. What is wrong with it? M48A5
Your load order is not correct. The only mod that can be placed between the DLCs is StreetLights and it goes between ThePitt and BrokenSteel. All other mod files must load after Zeta.esm. Matt714
In addition, there are Paradox Ignition versions of Realistic Street Lights and RH Iron_Sights http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/16787/?
dragonbatgo
It still doesn't work. I've moved the order around abit and used BOSS and LOOT. No bueno. Even used the Paradox Ignition Versions. This is the steam version of Fallout 3 GOTY if that helps at all. I've never had this problem before.http://imgur.com/vRs7Xe7
M48A5
Evidently you do not have any load sorter installed correctly. Neither BOSS nor LOOT would have generated the list you provided. Load OrderFallout3.esmAnchorage.esmThePitt.esmStreetLights.esm BrokenSteel.esmPointLookout.esmZeta.esmUnofficial Fallout3 Patch.esm These files must always be in this order. Always! Mods with multiple plugins should always be in the same order. Do not use LOOT to sort Fallout 3 mod files. It does not order them correctly. dragonbatgo
I did that. All that happens when i start a game or load a game is a white screen. I even verified the game Cache. Nothing happened. http://imgur.com/47Hn0aP Picture of the load order again and my folder of the mods i have installed. I can't figure it out... M48A5
If the game is installed in "Program Files", you will have problems with anything that changes the fallout3.exe. Something like FOSE. Since you have a game downloaded from Steam, there are instructions on Steam on how to change the install location. Also, you need to remember that there were no mods when Fallout 3 was developed and you might have a problem getting through the first part of the game with mods and DLCs active. I ran into that problem with a new install of Fallout 3 and corrected it by disabling all my mods and going through the vault and making a save just before exiting the vault tunnel. I then activated my mods and proceeded into the wasteland. I then made a save just outside the tunnel door. This way I had a save in the tunnel where I could change my character and another if I wanted to just start a new game.
Matt714
Did you also follow this guide? Highly recommended. https://steamcommunity.com/app/22370/discussions/0/828937546147175081/ Especially the .ini changes. My Fallout gets an insta-crash without. Edit with notepad: My Documents\my games\Fallout3\FALLOUT.INIor C:\users\yourname\Documents\My Games\Fallout3\FALLOUT.iniThis may appear as "FALLOUT" in windows explorer. IMPORTANT: DO NOT EDIT Fallout_default.ini !!! You're in the wrong directory!!!find (control F) bUseThreadedAI=0CHANGE to bUseThreadedAI=1Immediately after this line, ADD this new line:iNumHWThreads=
dragonbatgo
I changed the .ini doesn't work. Turned off all my mods. Screen still flickers and then goes to white. Game freezes and i can't do squat besides end it with task manager. This is really really annoying. I only wanted to play Fallout 3 and finish it with a few mods before 4 came out :L . Matt714
So, it crashes even without the mods? You could try to verify the game's cache.
