Automatic Weapon skipping first shot

I've been trying to make the All-American automatic. I've flagged it as automatic, increased fire rate to 6 and changed the animation to AttackLoop. I've found plenty of topics helping me get this far.

 

However, while if I tap the trigger it fires instantly just fine, holding down the trigger has the gun make a full attack animation without sound or shooting before starting to shoot, effectively skipping the first shot before starting to fire full auto. My vanilla full automatic weapons work fine.

 

How do I remedy this? It is incredibly frustrating.
