what i always found odd , is that there is only 1 baby in the entire game (the cure)



does that mean that no kid was born in the last ten years?



is the cure not only the last hope for the pitt, but for the entire wasteland?



the basic idea is to place some babies in some settlements like goodsprings, primm, novac,redrockcanyon or vault 3


it would make the world feel more real and alive and way more depressing knowing that babies have to survive this horror



and as a future mother myself( im in the third month) i would like to see some babies in the wasteland




any opinions?

There are some Children around in "Little Lamplight".A Town with nothing but children; apparently when you turn 16 you'll be kicked out to "Big town".

 

"Bumble" is supposed to be the youngest of them but she's about 8 or something. She uses the same character body as the other Children.

 

 

I figure Bethesda couldn't be bothered to create different Character models for Children of different ages. Still better than in "Oblivion", the game Bathesda made before that, which had no children at all.

 

All the adults used the same body type , well, one for female and one for male.

In fallout we had different Bodies for raiders.

If the appropriate assets from the pitt are available in the NV BSA I don't think it would be hard to add to NV. There would be a kf for the mother holding Marie, and Marie herself would be a AO.....I would think. I doubt it's a actual bonafide actor, as the little shortie doesn't do anything other than being held (if I remember correctly). If those assets are available, then changing things like complexion or the swaddling blanket would be a simple retexture. The nif's mesh itself could probably be tweaked a bit to give some variety.

 

I can't comment on the TTW angle as I'm not sure it's allowed on Nexus. If I get time this weekend I'll try and look into it for you.

id kind of like to see babies too. itd add another realism factor. imagine the beggars around freeside having babies on their shoulders, or some of the north vegas towns carrying young ones with them. ive never tried to add a texture to a mesh, only replace what was already there. but i'm sure I can educate myself on the process soon enough.

The baby AO is indeed in the NV BSA, I saw it some time go while I was looking for something else. Not sure if it has textures, but the mesh is there :smile:

The textures are definitely there. I saw them once when exploring and someguy2000 used them in Russell. If they aren't you can use my custom textures :devil: :

Good deal, it will be nice to see some little munchkins in the Mojave. I'll dig into the project after the festivities.

We'll be limited to the KFs available with that nif unless a friendly animator wants to contribute. That's mostly going to be what you saw with Marie in The Pitt. Other AO KFs can be used but realistically I can't think of any that would be shortie appropriate. Your looking mostly at KFs that are related to objects (eating edibles for instance). But the basics of having a swaddling in a mothers arms is going to be the go to animation, along with picking her up and putting her down. I also seem to remember here be handed to another, but I'm not sure how to set up two person animations.

It's just altering a existing texture, nothing different going on here. Because (I'd imagine) Marie is a AO and not an actual actor things like a skin shader aren't on the table. So we alter the DDS a bit for various racial compexions.
