Dozmeista
I have successfully created a new player start in my own world before , but now I think i may have made an awful mistake... I think i may have completely deleted it from the CS and now i cannot locate it to save my life. Could someone please tell me where; in which drop down menu of the CS object window is the CGPlayerStartMarker. I have looked through every logical and a lot that was not so logical... I cannot see it in NPC or in Activators... The thing is I have done this before; after a few minutes of searching I found IT... but this time ive searched for hours and i cannot see one. Also I copied the CGPlayerStartMArker from the imperial dungeon and renamed and even then deleted the original PlayerStartMArker... But ... I still start in the dungeon... how is this possible when the only player start that exists is in my own world? This is whats making me think i may have messed up big time and accidently deleted the PlayerStartMarker from the CS altogether... If someone can tell me the route to find it in the object window I can at least confirm this.... Thx Dozmeista
Hickory
The CGPlayerStartMarker is a permanent reference name only. It is applied to an XMarkerHeading static marker. You have not deleted it from the CS, as it's built into the vanilla Oblivion meshes bsa. In the CS you will find it in WorldObjects -> Static, right at the bottom. Dozmeista
Thank You :) I guess i must have copied pasted it the last time afterall.. Thanks to knowing the name i managed to locate a 2nd Xmarker in the imperial dungeon which i have now deleted. Still though, when i place my new one and name it accordingly to the same as what i have in stage 5 in the chargen quest scriptt; even with both oblivion and shivering isles umticked in the data files and only my world ( which is still only an esp) I still find myself starting in the imperial city dungeon :/ Ther is no Xmarker , except the E3 marker which im not even sure what that does, in the imperial dungeon and the script for stage 5 of chargen is pointing to my XMarker. Is it time to reinstall the editor do you think? Thx again for the help so far :)

I do not know how to go about it exactly, but you are probably going to have to modify the MQ01, MQ02 and Charactergen quests, as well as any associated scripts to get your character to start in a different location. I suggest you take a look at one of the alternate start mods to get some ideas.
Dozmeista
Yup i figured it would always be loaded but thought i'd give it a try. I am going from the tutorial here on the nexus http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/PC_Starting_Location and have followed it to the letter. Ive done this before and there was nothing else i needed to do then, just copy and paste in the alternate script for stage 5 and insert my new location which is CGPlayerStartAlt in both cases, and it worked a treat. I have no other mods running and have not only renamed the original Xmarker but deleted it also ( and now made sure there are no others ) I think maybe i messed it up big style by either generating a prototype LOD before i should have ( i was curious lol ) or by making a new form ( or not, as i tried both) when i renamed the relocated Xmarker. Hell, maybe It was copying and pasting the marker that caused it. All I know is this time round im stuck starting in the imperial dungeon despite there being nothing physical or script wise to make that be. The annoying thing is i have succeeded doing thisonce and this time follwing the exact same process its not wanting to know. If any of the suggestions I made sounds likely to cause to CS to go Bleeeeughhhh please stae so :) I know it can be a very finicky program. Hickory
I've never even attempted an alternate start or new land mod, so I'm really in the dark. And I don't know what "to cause the CS to go Bleeeughhhhh" means.
