BudIsland
new to the site, I recently installed Skyrim to my PC, downloaded and installed NMM, having issues. still playing console. Love the nexus site. My question is, has any one built a mod setup with all the required files for a plug & play or a minimal setup that is simple to install? Just asking, plzz... don't get mad at me.
bben46
I think you are missing the entire point of modding. The idea is not to make a game just like somebody elses game to make it like a console. But to make it custom, with the mods you pick to make the game the way you want it to be, not like someone else wants it to be. What you are asking for is a premade mod compilation - nope we absolutely do not allow that for complicated reasons. Uploading one here is against our rules. There are lists of mods though. But you still need to do the work of downloading, installing and sorting them. That is on the list of possible updates to the NMM for a future release where you would be able to either input your own list or get a list and input to NMM and each mod would then be downloaded into NMM for you - but that may be some time in the future. Here is a link to my rant about compilations. It is intended for people who want to create a compilation and intended to convince them it may not be such a great idea after all.http://s1.zetaboards.com/bbenlibrary/topic/5139302/1/?x=0#post789817
BudIsland
I appreciate the feed back,Thank you. i do want to mod, it is challenging now that i actually see the depth of the user interface. i would like to first off just cleanup the vanilla textures, landscapes, amour (or lack of) and develop a more immersive interaction with my follower with out over taxing the miserable 4 gig of ram, which will soon be upgraded to 8. For now I will have to dream about the lap top I saw at best_uy on the weekend for $2500.
notmyhome
I'd suggest following the STEP project for your entry into modding. They teach you proper modding techniques, show you how to set up vital bugfixes, how to use the most important tools for modding, and show you a vast selection of mods that improve the game without changing it completely. ironbender800
your best bet is follow a guide. as said above you still need to do the work of downloading, installing, and organizing. http://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.9.1 http://wiki.step-project.com/index.php?title=User:Neovalen/Skyrim_Revisited_-_Legendary_Edition&oldid=67733 https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bBkqlJ3daEEzCgwzBeACoKRmXudMF9EsodXDKYdn0I4/edit Keep in mind each of these guides require pretty strong hardware. Lastly check out gamer poets on youtube for the best instructional videos on modding skyrim that you will find. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCF1Qkw7OUG4JmIrw1QI-oWg
