charwo
I got a serious problem:Fallout 4 isn't launching properly from Steam. The screen goes black, sometimes a little loading circle pops up and nothing happens as it attempts to load or it plays the music but there's screen. I tried updating the drivers, and it's still happening. I have....well my rig works fantastic on Skyrim even on high settings, so it should be able to handle Fallout 4. There is this thing that tried to install....a Microsoft VT something something, but I cancelled the installation because nothing was installing. I'd try reinstalling that if I knew how. Can anyone help, and no I can't give system stats, because they don't make sense to me and they're arbitrary numbers and letters that I can't remember and don't know how to look up. It plays Skyrim awesome though so I know it's not the system per se.
bben46
Use the steam Validate Game Cache before going any further. It will replace any corrupted and missing files in your install.Go to the steam siteOpen your steam libraryselect the game you want to verify in the librarySelect propertiesSelect the Local Files Tabin the menu that will appear, select 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache'Allow steam to do its thing then try again. Grasmann
If you cancelled the installation of vcredist you can find the setup in "Fallout 4\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2012".If that's not the problem you probably should give us your system specs. I think tThe specs are looking good.Maybe the 2GB VRam will lead to problems ... but I guess it should start at least. Grasmann
This is really odd.I'm actually using two monitors. On top of that I have AMD running. In the first few hours after release I read it's badly optimized for AMD.Well, I mean bethesda games are badly optimized for everything. So far I have no crashes, no freezes, no graphical glitches.Just a few minor bugs here and there ( thanks to bethesdas outstanding scripting work :D ). Stupid idea ... but have you tried to restart your computer? XD
