kharaa Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 So one of the things that drive me nuts in this game, is the timed fusion cores, they only last about 20 minutes(or less if sprinting) a mod that made them last forever, or atleast a very long time, would be so awesome. :P It sucks having to get out of your power armor in the middle of combat, and go around behind it to replace the fusion core.
moretolove Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Well if it really bothers you so much here is a way to get a lot of them, they weigh nothing and all you have to do is swap them out. Of course this is just for now until a mod comes out. 1, Press the "~" key on your keyboard.2. Enter the following message: "player.additem 00075fe4 #" replace the # with the amount you want (any is fine they weigh nothing) also do not type the " in the console3. Press enter and watch as you instantly have all those cores.
xxCythexx Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 I'd like to second a Fusion Core mod. If anything to make them craftable or a merchant that sells them regularly. I don't want to use any console commands, either provided or added via batch file. Just my personal opinion. :)

If I'm not mistaken, you don't need to get out of the power armor and attatch a new fusion core. As long as you have one in your inventory, it will be replaced automatically.

Redwyrm Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 There is not much use for power armor in this game anyway, not on high difficulties at least. In previous games power armor was very useful because it gave you extra strength. And that pretty much was the only way to increase your carrying capacity, as well as getting ability to use 'heavier' weapon with low strength. In this game weapon doesn't have str requirement at all. And carrying capacity very easily achieved by upgrading normal armor. More to that, there is amazing armor pieces that give you very useful bonuses. Like perma-stealth if you stay immobile, or giving you extra attributes (yes, including strength, and you can get way more than just +2), and besides those bonuses, you still can upgrade it with carrying capacity. And finally... fusion core, really? You worry about fusion core, then legs and arms on power armor breaks in no time, making you return to your settlement to repair it after every single instance visited? :P I'd say fusion cores barely problem at all, compare to armor repair problem :P I still have and upgrade power armor, but rather order my companions get into it. As fusion core power never gets depleted when power armor used by NPC.
victoriaks01 Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Instead of just replacing power cores, perhaps combining the correct scrap items you could either recharge or create new power cores.
DragosDrakkar Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 There is a mod called Configurable Power Armor Fusion Core Drain: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/325/? It includes a No Drain option, so that the power armor you wear still needs a power core, but it should never run out of juice.
pbvS86 Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Could a mod reduce the chances of finding fusion cores as well as their battery-life? I figure if you are going to increase the core's lifespan, you ought to think about reducing the core's chances of being found... to keep it a little interesting and not too OP...
