RiotBoi
So everything I hear about Fallout 4 makes it sound awful. BUT it has rekindled a desire to replay FO:NV. I only own the base game, no DLC. A few questions. Should I buy all the DLC or just some of it? Mods. I browsed various mods on nexusmods. I wondering if someone can help me decide and if the various mods can work at the same time. The obvious first one is the User Interface Organizer. http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/57174/?Do you know if these different mods will work together or not? Should I use one rather than another? I will list the names and then post the links coded below the list. 1 Project Nevada2 A World of Pain3 MTUI4 NVInteriors Project5 Roleplayers Alternative Start6 Nevada Skies - Weather Effects7 FOOK8 Monster Mod9 Fellout10 Interior Lighting Overhaul11 Beyond Boulder Dome12 The New Bison Steve Lucky Hotel and Casino13 Radio Free Wasteland14 RTS/ Real Time Settler 1 http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/40040/? 2 http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/38719/? 3 http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/34902/? 4 http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/43534/? 5 http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/45739/? 6 http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35998/? 7 http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/34684/? 8 http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/41361/? 9 http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/34888/? 10 http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35794/? 11 http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/46907/? 12 http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/40433/? 13 http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/37655/? 14 http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/36922/? charwo
See Gopher's mod clinic, he'll give you the hookup: Also, his series on basic modding: Edited November 14, 2015 by charwo
RiotBoi
Ty for posting, but I'm not looking to learn how to mod and the first video is done for people who know how to mod already.
charwo
Gopher's series here aren't teaching you to mod, only how to hook up the mods you're going to be playing with. Moreover, his set up is one I'm very happy with, and most of the mods he recommends are worth a try. As for DLC, yes, get ultimate edition, it's all there in one package, and be happy, cause you will be.
Moldy
I hotly suggest the official addons. They expand the game by an insane amount. As for mods... I personally build all of my New Vegas installations around Project Nevada and WMX. Project Nevada adds so much, and WMX ensures all your weapons have three mods. Skpstr
I'm pretty new to this but Fellout and Nevada Skies are incompatible IIRC.
Weydmar
I think Nevada skies does what fellout do + more things. So you could just stick to this. Otherwise you might be able to find a compatibility patch for those, if you really want to use them both
egamar
I too am doing much the same! (I can't yet justify spending £999 on a new PC to play FO4, so this is my next-best option). Could some wise person point me at a 'load order guide'? ISTR seeing one years ago, and I rememebr it being critical to a stable system to ensure the right load order. I also recall something about creating a 'merged ESM file' (I think) also being important, but I can no longer find the links or documentation. There was also a 'recommended MODs' website - and again I've lost the link in the intervening years. Many of my favourite mods seem to have been further developed or have had their functionality included in larger mods and of course there are some new ones too: that is quite the enticement for yet another play through. Thanks in advance for any pointers
