justisnexus
well, i guess ill be the only person on the planet to ask this but why is it that when ppl make a mod and in the instructions it tells you to change this in you ini. file "sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\"and literally nothing else? that right there will not help any one ever install a mod saying "add all files in game" is not instructions its bs this is new to us so if you know how to install YOUR mod then EXPLAIN HOW TO DO IT AND DON'T JUST SAY SOMETHING STUPID IN PLACE OF INSTRUCTIONS! and apparently putting the textures in the textures folder isnt enough and no one has come up with the idea to tell others why or what has been done wrong. I would really like to know what step i overlooked in order for something simple to be this frustrating.
Emilgardis
Woa chill there. So installing texture mods is done ike this (for now, it is likely this will change):-- Finding the fallout folder.1. Simply open up steam, then go to library and right click fallout and select properties.2. Now on the local files tab click "browse local files".3. Done, follow the mods instruction. If the author tells you to drop the contents of the zip file inside your fallout installation simply unzip/unrar the downloaded file, and drop it into the folder you opened in the previous step. -- Changing .ini file / configuration file1. Open up file explorer2. On the left panel go to Documents and then go to My Games -> Fallout43. Open up the required file, preferably in Notepad++ (https://notepad-plus-plus.org/), and then find the line you are supposed to change.

RSXelrate
I also have done this without success:1. Changed the line in the Fallout4_Default.ini2. Dropped files to \Data\- resulting path is \Data\textures\
martiiNN
In the past, i had some trouble with NV/mods too. After i installed NV on my non system HDD all mods worked. So maybe it doesnt work because Fallout4 is installed on the sys drive. Any solutions so far?

RSXelrate
Figured it out. You need to change the .ini in C:/Users/Documents/my games/Fallout 4/, NOT the one in /steamapps/common/Fallout 4/Fallout4_Default.ini Edited November 14, 2015 by RSXelrate
tase
Yea that's what I'm editing. C:\Users\Admin\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4.ini
tase
I found out the issue. I had a Fallout4.ini in my Data folder and Fallout 4 was using it instead of the one in my Documents.
