Moraelin
I know it's probably too early to set my hopes high, but any news on the mesh format? Is it anything like Skyrim .nif files? I know, I know, patience... but I'm kinda getting the Blender withdrawal syndrome already. You know, shaking hands and all ;)
BOTLANNER
Yes it is still nif type and you can actually get to it using the archive extractor http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/78/
Jokerine
Woot, maybe someone will finally be able to extract the milk bottle mesh and texture for me! :)
rickerhk
Quote from Jonwd7 in that same thread: "I'm the only currently active NifSkope dev, so unless someone comes back to help out my answer is probably going to disappoint you: Fallout 4 NIFs are significantly different and will take a few weeks at least to have proper rendering in NifSkope. The editing of the raw data may come sooner, and it just won't render, but that depends on how quickly we can decode everything". That's just for Nifskope. As far as the modeling programs - maybe never? Still don't have a full fledged plugin for skyrim NIFs after all these years.
Moraelin
To be honest, NifSkope actually IS all I need. I never exported directly from Blender to .nif. I always export to .obj or 3ds and then import that in NifSkope. Nothing ideological or any good reason, it's just how I learned to do it way back in FO3 days, and, hey, if it works, no need to change things. Thanks for the information, in any case.
