A tip for performance boosting that works.

So I was reading this article about Fallout 4 and performance (link here), and they found that memory speed makes a huge difference in performance in any system.

I tried it myself and got about 10% more fps at the entrance to Diamond City by OC'ing my RAM from 1333 to 1600.

For the record, my system:

Core I5 2500k @ 4.6GHz

8 GB RAM of DDR 1333 (now at 1600)

XFX 390X stock.

Don't know if anyone should recommend or advice an overclocking process, because a single game on the market is that bad coded ...

Running an i5-4690K with 3.50GHz, with an high end GPU (OCed by the company itself, Asus). Crysis 3, maxed + last AA, 1080p = 60FPS.

Far Cry 4, same game.

Warframe, same game.

Even Assassin's Creed Unity, 60 FPS.

Even Howard said "We are not adding fancy new graphics to the game...", which means, it has the usual Fallout 3/NV standards, just with those godrays addition.

Used the strongest and most performance allocating ENB for FO NV = constant 60 FPS, even in highly crowed areas.

Have you ever been to Diamond City and the exterior? Dropping down to 19FPS ... that is ridiculous, and definitely not an issue on my side, nor anyone else's.

It is simply: bad coding, a bad console port.

Call of Duty has this issue, always. The newest "Black Ops 3" hasting my CPU up to 100% usage, without any reason.

TL;DR

To Others: Don't do an OC just for a single bad coded game!
