Phelgming
Can't afford FO4, but I need something new so I'm trying to mod FO3. Everytime I try to play the game, it will take me to the "Please Standby" slide then crashes. I have FOSE and the Updated Unofficial Patch installed and I have FOMM. I'm trying to install Fallout 3 Wanderer's Edition, CRAFT, and CALIBR. Here is my load order:[X] Fallout3.esm[X] Anchorage.esm[X] ThePitt.esm[X] BrokenSteel.esm[X] PointLookout.esm[X] Zeta.esm[X] Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esm[X] CRAFT.esm[X] CALIBR.esm[X] FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esm[X] CRAFT - Activation Perk.esp[X] Stealthboy Recon Armor - CRAFT.esp[X] CALIBRxMerchant.esp[X] DarNifiedUIF3.esp[X] FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esp[X] FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Anchorage.esp[X] FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC The Pitt.esp[X] FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Broken Steel.esp[X] FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Point Lookout.esp[X] FO3 Wanderers Edition - DLC Mothership Zeta.esp[X] FO3 Wanderers Edition - Alternate Travel.esp[X] FO3 Wanderers Edition - Followers Enhanced.esp[X] FO3 Wanderers Edition - Optional Restore Tracers (automatics only).esp[X] FO3 Wanderers Edition - Optional Restore Tracers.esp[X] Bashed Patch, 0.espI've already checked out the beginner's guide and used all the resources listed and everything checks out with them.It might be worth noting that the Alternate Travel.esp fileheader marks it as an .esm for some reason, but the extension is .esp. M48A5
Alternate Travel should load as the last .esm or first .esp. Before just activating mods, you need to understand what they do. You cannot use two FO3 Wanderer's Edition - Optional Restore Tracers. Two mod files that change the same thing, in this case tracers, are in direct conflict of each other. Is there a special reason your are not using FO3 Wanderer's Edition - Followers Enhanced (BrokenSteel)? Did you add the mod files one at a time, checking in the game to ensure they work? If your equipment is able to handle a modded game, I don't see anything else wrong with your load order.
Phelgming
Thanks for responding! -I'll fix the Alternate Travel positioning-I know what the tracer .esps do and actually elected to tick neither of them (I don't really care for them) in the installation screen. I have no idea why they're still present.-I'm not using the Broken Steel version because I do not understand the difference between them and chose to go with what I can only assume is the default (I've tried to find what the differences are and why I'd use one over the other, but haven't found anything).-I did. The only functioning layout aside from the base GOTY files alone was with the Updated Unofficial Patch. Otherwise I tried just about every combination of activated and deactivated mods I could. Unless I've missed something, the only thing I haven't tried changing is the load order. Edit: Moved the Alternate Travel .esp to the proper position. Tried loading the game and I got a bit farther than usual, but it still crashed before reaching the main menu. M48A5
The difference with the Followers Enhanced is that one works with BrokenSteel and the other does not. Having Broken Steel active allows you to continue playing after the main quest ends. And I just remembered that you will need Custom Race Endings Broken Steel Override to continue. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/6240/? With FWE, you do have a custom race. Since you say the game runs without mods, disable all of them and play through the tutorial and continue until you get to the tunnel leading to the exit door. About half way through, make a save. Go to the exit door and you should get the option to adjust your character. To through the door and make another manual save. At this point, add your mods. Did you make a new Bashed Patch after changing your load order?
