Reflections from a slow playing low end Computer player(there is hope)

I'm playing on a 27" Imac with 16 ram and a 1GB video card, and an I5 (3,2) quad . I tried medium, but I had to back down to Low to play well. On 1920x1080, I was getting a high 20s FPS. I did a grass tweak reducing grass, installed the latest ENB Boost, and those added performance up to low 30's. Then I tried a few other mods from Nex, but they didn't do anything. Then I tried ULG from Iyzik, and wow!, a great difference. I'm now running high 30's to 40's. It plays well, and I'm being cautious with mods.

I really wish the intro (backstory?) would have been longer, and involved a bit of playing beyond just twirling the mobile on the crib and the salesman. When he showed up at the vault check gate, I thought it would be kind of a mini story. Also, shooting the husband/wife in the cryo to get Shaun was a bit overplayed and didn't suspend belief much. I mean, he's in a cryo, half awake (holding a baby?) and he has to be shot? And no gore? That kinda stuff.

The hair seams really bothered me too. And one of my toons actually had a hole in her waistline. I'm not a fan of the new VATS, but I'm going to give it awhile. Mainly because I'm old and slow, and the old VATS gave me time to think. At least in the early stages of the game I'm a bit disappointed that crafting seems a bit limited, to say modifying. But maybe I'm missing something. I do play real slow, but I love it.

All in all I'd give it a B, neither minus nor plus. Considering how long the dev cycle is/was, it should be much cleaner. But it is really good, and thanks to the modders, its going to have a really long life.

Thanks modders, here,s to you (raises F4 Ale).
