  1. No. I run most of my mods that way. I got tired of NMM breaking. Now only the ones post break show up, but it doesn't affect any Looting, SeEditing, etc. so I don't sweat it. I'm currently at 160, and other than NMM, everything works fine, barely ever a hiccup.
  2. DON'T uninstall mods as a general rule, disable them. I also use ReSaver to clean saves as part of my repertoire that includes Loot, SeEdit, and Wyre.
  3. Oh, and if you install Sky 2.2, there are a few really nice font mods that go really well with the game, and sky ui.
  4. I think you just did. I'll bring the chips.
  5. I use a lot of textures mods from Oldrim. And if a mod, say SkyUI, has a pre extender version, it may work as well. Did I mention I'm a texture nut?
  6. Why do Khajit have spots? Geez, with 80 some percent of player being 18-25 or thereabouts, I suspect some connection.
  7. Impersonating Eli should be a punishable crime. At least an arrow to the knee, preferably both knees, front and back and one to the side.
  8. I'm yawning at skse, and modding along with what is trickling out. I expect a deluge of mods once it, if it, ever comes out.
  9. In my not so humble opinion, no.
  10. I use the 2.2. I don't miss the "missing" features...yet.
  11. No. In very rare instances I recall a mod or two at the most that mentioned Edit giving a false report. But the benefits of cleaning "dirty" mods far, far outweighs any dangers. As for areas, that sounds more like a conflict of mods. For example I once had a crash that happened as I approached, beneficial as I recall, an isolated cabin area outside Riverwood. Through research and trial I finally disabled the mod causing the crash. As far as I'm concerned SSEdit is as basic as a a hammer in a tool set.
  12. "If you find the book before activating the quest, you will be stuck with it. The quest will point to the chest, and the book won't be there, and can't be returned. Once this has happened, you will be stuck with any additional copies you pick up as well, even if you activate the quest before getting a second copy." http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Fetch_me_that_Book! It sounds like you may have the book already. If, as you say, since you have done 12 or so and there are only 20 total, maybe you have the books already.
  13. If your doing Helgen totally vanilla I'd be perplexed at a CTD at that point. You should, IMNSHO, play vanilla until the quest is "completed" on the other side of Helgen. If you are starting with mods, LOOT and SSEdit are a must, and Wyre for that matter. If you start out with too many mods and are inexperienced, it may be difficult, to say the least to track down the conflict causing your issue. I started once with STEP mods from the beginning. Bad idea. For me anyway. Once I had a clean save then I started the painstaking process of adding mods, looting mods and ssediting mods. I also recommend Bethini and ReSaver. Don't give up friend, just start small. After 2 years of Oldrim and SSE (everything I ever learned about modding I learned right here on Nexus), I'm now up to 160 mods, crashes are rare, and lately only one conflict I didn't catch before I installed it. I have learned to almost enjoy the challenge of piling on the mods without a crash, but it's a careful piling. Learn the dance of modding and crashes are just a blip. Good luck!
  14. When I run WB, it lists a bunch of mods it says "need" to be disabled before rebuilding. If I don't it always appears in the next go around. In my case I'm not seeing it disabling anything on it's own. I'm glad this post question was asked. I learned to run Loot before, not after, like I thought.
  15. I have never used scrolls. I use the absolute minimum of any magic in my play throughs. But to answer the OP's question, I would if they were like a grenade or a bomb, like tossing the effect, kind of AOE.
  16. I use it with SE, and it works. It's wonky as heck and does really weird things, but it works.
  17. I think the author understands perfectly what he/she/it/they/them/us is doing, and if aforementioned wasn't getting donations, then taking them down wouldn't hurt would it? And so continues the slow inexorable death of modding for Skyrim in all it's flavors. Personally, I have gigs and gigs of mods redundantly backed up, knowing they weren't going to be up forever (remember modern firearms F$?). Was it a "dick move"? Please, how juvenile. If mods are free and modding is free then anything goes. I have a small mod base for SE, only 120 or so mods, if I gave a dollar to every one multiplied by F4, F3, FNV, OB, MO, etc, I'd be broke and the authors wouldn't feel like they were getting their due. Coming to modding near you: advertising like the sickening spend-half-your-time-closing-pop-ups in YOUTUBE.
  18. Thank! I'll be sure to try that the very next time I play. I'm sooo glad this is still such a helpful place....
  19. When doing lots of Alchemy at one time, for example, when one is "discovering" effects, the screen process "xyz learned from abc", or "potion of ZZZ created". This create kind of a long rolling text, which can be, is, annoying, especially where it is located, over menu bar. How does one change it so it's much shorter, and/or in a different area? I can do some things with SSEEdit, and I'm vaguely familiar with creation kits, so if someone could point me in the direction... Thank you.
  20. I want to use this mod for SE, and I'm assuming I can since it doesn't say it requires SKSE. Or, if it requires SKSE, does it partially work (if that's possible in this case) as SkyUi? Also, if I use TES5Edit to change the days to longer, under "climate", do I need to change all six categories, or can I just change "default" or any other? Finally, what is "BloatedMansClimate" (one of the climate zones) anyway? I recognize the others.
  21. I have been playing SE as of late, and use SkyUI, with it's attended limitations. Even with the limitations and the warning window, it's still really, really good.
  22. Nope, no double-clutching. The same method I used for 200+ F4 and Skyrim mods. Yes, I have un-installed and re-installed. It happens with any mod. NMM, an enigma wrapped in a mystery.
  23. I'm using "add from file" in NMM to install mods for SSE. In a first of using NMM for years, when I "add file". NMM generates 2 unassigned categories, places one inactivated mod in the categories, and when I activate either, they both are activated. Similarly, when I deactivate, they both deactivate. The plugin tab only shows one plugin. And yes, I am wearing my glasses. Any ideas?
  24. Actually, I never install Skyrim or Fallout 4 to the C drive. I have a separate drive for each game. Since I do have backups of my games and Skyrim isn't too long to install, I suppose I could do a C install, and then revert back to the Skyrim drive of my choice. Or I could have 2 installs? But I've never done that, if it's possible. Well, after trying the alphabet soup of what to do, I had to have it on the C drive. Just when I got used to not doing so.
