A pro-life way of playing

Sometimes when I'm playing with my brother and our friends, we all run around the back yard, pretending to be enemies shooting each other, by pointing our finger like a gun and shouting "Bang! You're dead!"

Then the one we shoot is supposed to fall over and pretend to be dead, until we put our hand on them and say "Okay, you're alive again!" Then we can get up and be friends again.

To me, that would be the perfect way to play Skyrim. We could kill the bandits, then loot the bodies, then do a magic spell which resurrects them and lets us be friends. Can anyone do a mod which makes that happen?

To prevent the player from exploiting this and killing them again for extra loot, it might be best if they were resurrected without anything to loot. And that way if we return to the area, we would know in advance that they are our friends because they would be wearing only their underwear, and we would not shoot them.

I don't know how to mod, but your idea has some merit. I have a dim view of wannabes who enjoy ever-more-realistic blood and gore. (I'm a veteran, it's not funny when it's real.) I think a game or mod for adventuring, exploring, discovery, inventing, and building without violence--or at least mild violence, such as accidents--is a fantastic idea. So if someone made a mod similar to your request, I would certainly give it a try.

I've been playing the game that way for the past 1.5 years (prior I played it the normal way).

Apart from after resurrection they get their loot back.

(The way I see it, if you have to resurrect 1 NPC repeatedly to get loot, your only ripping yourself off and it would be a fad you'd soon get over)

All my NPC's in my game end up friends in the long run.

I can tell who's friendly when I revisit an area as they don't attack me and they still offer to follow me if I ask (even when the NPC has respwned with a different one replacing the prior one I resurrected).

I love playing the game this way.

Nice to see quest npc that offer no choice but to kill to complete the quest, bandits, falmer, thalmer, foresworn, bears, sabrecats, drauger, skeletons and just about any other type of npc and actually not have to kill everything first and ask questions later.

Initially I use to use a bat file to do this, then at a later date I wrote my own version of a mod with the features embedded into it all at a simple key press while targeting any NPC.

The mod I no longer have shared.

But it's easy enough to do what your after via simple console commands.

Haha, I thought I was one of the only ones that did this. I always resurrect Rogvir & set him up in a house mod somewhere to live out his new life. And, after I kill Astrid in the hidden cabin, I always resurrect her & make her a follower. I also tend to travel around with TCAI on to make sure NPCs I like don't die from an attacker I didn't see in time, etc. I like cheat codes. Yeah, I play like a god, but at least it's as a benevolent one :)
