Recommended Posts

After installing tons of textures and neither any single damn texture works, i've already changed my Fallout4.ini on My Documents location, and neither works.

Mods like SprintAP, and PipBoyShadows are working fine, but ANY TEXTURE IS WORKING.

solution?

Try this

A guide to setting up your PC version of Fallout 4 for modding. This does not show you how to install mods, but rather set your game up ready for mods to be installed. These edits are required for installed mods to work in your game.

You will need to add the following line to the Fallout4Prefs.ini file above the section marked [Launcher]:

bEnableFileSelection=1

You will need to change the following line in Fallout4.ini:

sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\

or you can downloade this mod if you feel thats better
nexusmods

Also remember to have a folder called texture in the Data folder where you have all the texture in it.

I'm a month late but there's a very good reason why nobody uses this method anymore...using this method of mod enabling, expect to see drastically increased load times and possibly frame rate drops due to the game having to inefficiently load loose files...instead, go to your Documents folder > My Games > Fallout4 > Fallout4.ini and add bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 to any part of the ini. This will keep load times to a minimum while allowing for mods to work.

Assuming you followed the instructions here to enable mods and DID NOT follow all of the outdated suggestions in the earlier parts of the thread, if you still can't get mods to work it is probably a NMM problem. http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Fallout_4_Mod_Installation

The latest versions of NMM are really bad about not properly installing and activating mods. Unfortunately they've also stopped supporting it while they work on a new one from scratch. I suggest either switching to a somewhat older, more stable version of NMM or switching to Mod Organizer 2 which has recently started receiving support again with a new developer.
