oblivion crashes when i load saves from outdoors

I was playing oblivion for a couple of hours last night, and after a lot of exploring i saved not far out from fort doublecross, which i just cleared out. However, when i try to load any of the two saves i made after i left it, or the autosave as soon as i enter the exterior cell (in blackwood), they both crash to desktop when on the loading screen. I decided to load my backup of the autosave, and rename it to the newer one, because the last save i had before that was hours away, and thankfully it worked. So, I loaded it (it was made when i first entered fort doublecross) and played again, this time making several more seperate saves in case something like that happened again, and surely enough when oblivion crashed ~15 minutes later all of the saves I had made outdoors now crash on loading. The most recent working save file was the last one I made when I was still inside the interior of the fort. I'm wondering if this is an issue with a mod conflict or the game itself, and if I salvage any of the saves or at least be able to load the ones I make after I exit the fort. I haven't installed any new mods recently, and the game has been working fine for the several hours i played it yesterday, so I'm confused as to why it would suddenly keep crashing when loading these particular saves.

plz help, i'd like to figure out the source of the problem quickly as i cant play anymore in fear of any further progress made after exiting the fort being unloadable.

The first thing to do is post your load order. Please post it in text, and between 'spoiler' tags.

I've been running these mods without any problems for a couple of weeks now, but if you think a mod is somehow responsible or my load order is wrong I will try to change it...

Your mod list is certainly out of order. You should install BOSS, update the masterlist and run it to sort your load order. You would also do well to install Wrye Bash and create a Bashed Patch.

I did what you suggested, but Oblivion still crashes when I load any of my recent saves. I loaded the one that worked back inside the fort, but when I exited outside and saved the game Oblivion would again crash when I tried to load it afterwards. Is there any particular reason it refuses to load from the exterior? Should I disable something? I like my mods and they were working fine for me but this effectively stops me from playing this game any more because I can't make any working saves. I've been playing this game for a while and my character is around level 40 with most of the main quests (+fighters, mages, theives guild, dark brotherhood, etc) completed so it would be a shame of Oblivion just decided to stop working for no reason.

It could be that your save game is bloated, and it could be that you have been playing for so long that the game, having to keep track of so much world objects, scripts and affairs, that it's pushing your system over the theoretical limit. You might want to start considering thinning out your mods, especially along the lines of unnecessary clutter like Diverse Waterlife, and some of the M.O.E stuff. I mean a lot of tweaks can be done in the Bashed Patch, like unlocked Dremora armour, etc. Take stock in what you have and what you NEED, and trim the excess. Then make a clean save.

huh, interestingly i tried something different based on a suspicion I had and it worked. I loaded up my last working save again, but this time I rested until it was dark before venturing out, and after some wandering I successfully made a loadable save, verified by relaunching the game. The only possible explanation I can come up with for why this happens is that it might have something to do with vampirism, because I'm currently afflicted and I was taking minor sun damage in my previous saves. Im not sure if its something to do with the script for it, but I also have a mod installed that might modify that so I'll try disabling it.hopefully its just a mod issue thats crashing the game and not a sign of oblivion going senile on me
