Sypron
This will sound really stupid, but anyway.I decided to start a new vampire type character, but it just got my thinking how all the other characters end up. Level 20 or so and fed up with the inibility to punch simple, daedric armor clad bandits to death. "What I need a really special character" I thought, so i'm going to create my own daedric prince. I know it doesn't fit with the lore, but *censored* it, who came up with Jyggalag anyway? So my daedric prine (whos name is undecided) will be a vampire based prince. His spheres are Blood, contract and deals. Problem is this conflicts a bit with Malacath "the keeper of the Sworn Oath, and the Bloody Curse." The story in TES is that hircine created were-wolves. In reality vampire supposedly came from dracular. This is Tamriel. My Daedra Prince will be the creator of the Vampire Disease, imperfect humans modeled in my image. My realm is know as The Beating Heart. A realm where the Rivers are made of blood and it is alway night. Most people there will be vampires or cattle. I'd like to know what you guys think. I know this sounds really stupid and anti-lore, but I think it will be fun. I'm also planning to creat a little Realm for my character, similair to Mehrunes realm but less firey. Abramul
I would suggest having it be a subordinate of Molag Bal, who has been charged with the furtherance of vampiric bloodlines. Or something like that. And I have a feeling that you're interpreting 'sworn oath' wrong. Pretty sure the sort of thing you're thinking of is the domain of Clavicus Vile. ninja_lord666
I like it. Although, wasn't it Vaermina that created Porpheric Hemophilia? Also, obviously Bethesda came up with Jyggalag :P
Rhydderch Hael
And Dracula was not, in reality, the progenitor of vampires or vampire myth. Dracula was a horror novel written by a 19th century author. Plenty of vampires predate it in folklore and written fiction.
Sypron
I'm sure your right Rhyddrech, but my point was that Elder Scrolls lore didn'tt have a reason for vampires, but ninja lord thinks it was Vaermina. I'll have to look into that.
Abramul
From the Dunmeri Temple's doctrine, "Vampires of Vvardenfell, Volume II", states that The Daedric Prince Molag Bal is the father of Vampires. He spawned the first vampire upon the corpse of a defeated foe. On a side note, Galur Rithari, one of the Bouyant Armiger was cured from Vampirism by Molag Bal. It is recorded in his "Private Papers of Galur Rithari, Buoyant Armiger". Somehow, the Dunmeri Temple keeps this record from the world, with no clear reason. Molag Bal as the father of Vampirism is also recorded in the book called "Opusculus Lamae Bal ta Mezzamortie." The book tells a story of Molag Bal, in his hatred towards Arkay, corrupted a body of a Nedic female, Lamae Beolfag. Lamae later is known as Lamae Bal and she is also known as the Blood Matron and the First Vampire. Which record is correct? We cannot be sure on that, but as all other information we got from Tamriel, it is relative to the person who recorded the information. But one thing for sure, Molag Bal is indeed the creator of Vampirism.More on Molag Bal and vampires.
Sypron
*censored* eh? oh well. Thats not going to stop me. I don't care if it conflicts with lore, my daedric prince will be the vampire's keepers.
ninja_lord666
Ahh, I guess I was wrong. I think it would be rather lore inaccurate to create an actual Daedric Prince, but maybe something a little different. After all, the rest of the princes don't consider Malacath to be a prince yet he is commonly worshiped to be one. Maybe Molag Bal lost interest with the vampires and one of them rose up to become more powerful eventually becoming a lesser daedra and is now thought of by the other vampires to be a Daedric Prince although in reality, he's just an over-powered vampire. If a tiger can become a dragon, I'm sure a vampire could become a lesser daedra.
SeasonDancer
....This reminds me of Sia (floydian1's characther). Wasn't she also a Daedric Prince? No offense, just my curiosity
