GSmog
So if you get your Science! high enough you can upgrade your power armor helmet with a few goodies. I noticed two I assume do the exact same thing... so I was wondering which is better? Sensor Array= Reqs Science 3, +2 PerceptionVATS Matrix Overlay= Reqs Science 2, Increases Vats Hit chance. Now as far as I have been able to tell, perception doesnt do much in fallout 4, its tied to perks and gives a better chance to hit something in VATS. Though Im unsure how much each point gives... does anyone know how much more each point gives? And does anyone know how much an Increase the VATS Overlay gives? Does Perception do anything else? If so can you verify? Perception used to help find enemies better but now I guess it doesnt as only enemies looking for you [caution or danger mode] show up, and does so now automatically regardless of how high or low perception is. Now Id assume the perception increase would be better because I like raising my SPECIAL... but since I dont have three Power Armor Helms I cant really verify one way or the other. Id need a standard one so I can see what my base chance is, one with a sensor array for the +2 perception to see what those chances are, and Id need a VATS Overlay helm to compare all three... probably would also have to quick save near an enemy while hidden too since I cant target friendlies. So... before I do all that [have to go to sleep soon] figured Id see if anyone else knew before I spent all that time doing so... Edit:Now that Im thinking about it, anyone have some verification on how much an EXP increase each point of intelligence gives too? Been wondering that~Nevermind I found it, apparently each point gives a 3% difference, so, 30% difference at 10... but considering most things dont give much experience this is usually less than 1 exp point in most cases for most enemies... so I guess I can see why I didnt notice it. Id figure it'd be at least 5% each point, or 10% even. Double the exp at level 10 seems fair. *shrug* Id mod it myself if I could~ Edit2: As I figured it would, the Vats specific one has slightly higher Vats chance by 2 or 3 percent, which is about the same as not having a helmet versus wearing a Perception helmet. Not as big a difference as I was expecting, but thats also at fairly good range away, medium ish. Still I wonder if the perception is supposed to do anything else other than Vats. Xeneonic
As per the official video, Perception also increases your ability to sneak, lockpick, pickpocket (Both taking and putting things back like live grenades). As to how much it helps, greatly depends on the enemy's perception as well. If an enemy has 8 perception and you have 7. Getting the Sensor Array will likely not make much of a difference, as you'll still only have one point difference. The larger the difference, the greater the effect. GSmog
Agility is sneak~ lockpick is perception but Im guessing its only a minor, and very hard to measure change.
