GhoXen
In FO4, companions are even worse at sneaking than previous games. The majority of companions will make stealth play significantly more difficult if not outright impossible. I think a mod that confers absolute stealth to companions, while the player is not engaged in combat, will allow us stealth players keep both our playstyle and our companions. mpaquasar
This is a thing that bugs me allot also I vote for this, especially cordinating with companions inside huge building complexes can be a pain from time to time. It really is strange why bethesda dident devote more time to this when there is so huge areas in the citys where sneaking is much more important. I havent been inside the citys yet but what I have read from other players is that its more diffcult in the citys. I am close to the coast now recently I encountered a Deathclaw when I was stealthing away from it one of my companions attacked it. GhoXen
This is especially a problem in some buildings. I really appreciate how vertical buildings feel now, with so many ways up and down the levels. Regretfully companions are born dumb and are not good at navigating holes in ceilings and whatnot. What ends up happening is I would sneak around in a big building, but my companion would drop down some hole, try find its way up and aggro a ton of enemies on the way back. In FO4 companions really need to be more than just "hard to detect", they need absolute stealth.
GhoXen
Some semi-fix that makes the situation slightly more bearable. Companion's stealth will still be a mess, but he/she will mess your up relatively less frequently: 1. Set your companion's agility to 10, by targeting the companion in console, and entering "setav agility 10". 2. Add the 5 levels of Sneak perk, by targeting the companion in console, and entering:addperk 0004c935addperk 000b9882addperk 000b9883addperk 000b9884addperk 000b9881 3. Add 10 levels of the Covert Op perk, by targeting the companion in console, and entering "addperk 0008e3a4" ten times. 4. Mod your companion's armor with "Lightweight" and "Shadowed", and preferably they should wear light armor (i.e. leather). 5. Apply the Chameleon legendary effect to all pieces of your companion's armor. GSmog
Hah when stealthing I always just tell them "you stay there..." so, yea they probably need some buffs to be less noticable. Maybe give them all the stealth perks or something. Thanks for the link to legendary effects though, I was wondering if we had a complete list of them yet. GhoXen
A side effect of asking companions to stay at the entrance of a location is that you don't gain any affinity from lockpicking and whatnot if you are too far away from the companion. Further, you miss out all their banter and comment which is pretty much the key reason you bring them along.

GhoXen
A complete solution has been found, that will practically guarantee that your companion does not get in your way in stealth. 1. 4. Mod your companion's armor with "Muffled" (legs) and "Ultra-lightweight" or "Lightweight", and preferably they should wear light armor (i.e. leather). 5. Download the mod "Legendary Modification", install the optional "Chinese Stealth Armor" component during installation. 6. Mod all pieces of your companion's armor with the Legendary effect "StealthBoy". Your companion will now be practically completely silent and invisible while in stealth.
