IReeceI
You're having problems with the .ini ? one thing I noticed Gopher never mentioned, was to make sure the files were not hidden, as that can stop.ini fles being modified, My docs > My games > Fallout4 > Fallout4prefs > Properties, and make sure "Read only" is unchecked same with fallout4-config
okamifan1
I have Fallout4_Default.ini, and cannot find Fallout4.ini, when I open the Fallout4Prefferences.ini the [Launcher] part is missing... My fallout may wind up being unable to be modded.Fixed it myself Edited November 20, 2015 by okamifan1

WesSeH
To enable modding in Fallout 4 you will need to add the following line to the Fallout4Prefs.ini file below the section marked [Launcher]:bEnableFileSelection=1You will need to change the following line in Fallout4.ini:sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\
WillyTot
I have tried manually & using the NMM to install mods. When I do it manually it won't run the mods, even when I edit the 'plugins' file (I save it, but it reverts). When I used the NMM it got the plugins file changed, but the game crashed almost immediately after I pushed the play button. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a way to fix it? I ended up moving the modified plugins file out of the folder and the game replaced it with what was there previously and no mods available. What can I do to fix this or am I just screwed? I'm using Windows 10. I noticed in the Data folder the mods ended with .esp instead of .esm. Would that have something to do with the problem?
