SirTwist
I want to go way further than this. I want the first job of settlers to be clear out all the debris, and other junk, left in the settlement. Clean up, clear out, etc. all the dead grass, trees, etc. After this is done, they can then move on a pool of settlers to do other jobs. This is where I get really intensive. What I want my settlers to do is the usual jobs around the settlement, such as farm, guard, provision, and other stuff. What I want, as well, is a separate "bench" (I use quotes as I am not sure it should be a bench, but a container of a sort,) that is labeled Settler's Armory. This is where the settler will dump all their pipe pistols, etc. and grab something decent, from 10mm pistols to combat shotguns, to even laser pistols/rifles; and also armor, and armor pieces, that you have put in there already. Weapons, armor, etc. are all job specific. If you are a guard, you get the best bang for your buck, best armor, armor mods, etc. If you are a farmer, you get leather, or metal, and perhaps a few decent pistols, rifles, or shotguns. Then a desk, if you will, where you can set settler's name, occupation, etc. and that's all they do. From a set time to a set time. A farmer will work for a few hours during daylight hours. so are scavengers, and even stores. The shift people, as I like to call them, are the guards. These come in various modes. There is the stand a guard post guard, then there is the roving in the settlement guard, provisioning guard, and even the scavenging group guard. Their job is to guard, that's all they do. The scavenging guards do roam around the scavenging area, and protect everyone there, with the help of the scavenging group. The roving guards are inside the settlement, roaming around, making sure everything is copacetic, and even help the defense in and around the settlement. The guard posts stands guard watching for what's going on in their field of view, for that section of the wall they are guarding. Provisioners do their thing, day or night. And if settlers aren't assigned to a job, they can fix up things around the settlement, such as the houses, level out the ground, etc. They are they ones I want to really clean things up, and fix things up, to better than what you might set up, or have there already. StarChaserTyger
^-- I like this idea. I really wish those idiots would stop uselessly banging on the wall next to my weapon bench... Bugger off and do something USEFUL.
SlashSgt
Perhaps added default functionality to the Terminal you can build as a way to pull up a UI that would allow you to set the orders for all settlers, existing and coming to the settlement for the first time
