UhuruNUru
While many mods give additions to this Ini line in..\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4.ini They only appear to do so for their own mod, with the most common so far beingsResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\ Instead of only giving the folders your mod actually uses, it would be better to provide the full folder list. We will need most if not all of them at some point.Better to get the complete line right, from the start. Which I suspect is all the Vanilla folders inside the BA2 Archives, but I haven't confirmed that fact. soetdjuret
Is this still the way to do it? After the patches and updates? Bethesda likes to change things around sometimes as the game updates. I also heard that bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 overrides the need for the "sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\" command, is that true?. I also read somewhere that "sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\" and bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 isn't compatible. Please someone shed some light on this!
kingofthesword
Preetty sure you no longer need the full folder list, I don't have mine set up and everything works fine.
ymonakhov
my bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 removes multiple textures from the game, such as fences walls, etc. The meshes are still there since my char still collides with them, however the textures are missing and the objects appear transparent with only CBBE installed on top of a fresh install of the game and NMM. Still cant find a solution to what is going on
Sharlikran
While troubleshooting something related to settlement mods I reset my INI files to the Bethesda defaults. Once I loaded a save game none of the items I had built appeared in my settlement nor could I build anything. Mods I have installed that alter vanilla meshes were also preventing me from building certain things. Lucky for me I kept backup files. The change that had made the difference was with sResourceDataDirsFinal in my Fallout4.ini. I know there are people saying it's not needed. I was testing things with 1.5.205 which is the current Fallout 4 beta. So for me without that line in my INI file all me settlement mods wouldn't work because Fallout 4 couldn't load the meshes and textures. Since that's the current beta I feel it's still needed. I am not using bInvalidateOlderFiles though and I have not tested that.
JCDeLaurentius
I used sResourceDataDirsFinal= and everything seemed fine ( ver. 1.5). But starting a few days ago, the game failed most of the time to play my custom main menu music when starting, though it was playing it right when exiting to main menu after a game session. Reverted to old sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\ and now it's OK. If it can mess up the SOUND maybe it can mess up textures, meshes and other stuff too, so better let it all in your ini file. UPD: I was WRONG, somehow after adding all those dirs after sResourceDataDirsFinal= seemed to have fixed the main menu music problem. It was temporary, the problem's back either way now, sometimes it loads the right file, sometimes it uses the original music. It's erratic. Bethesda is getting better and better at this. Buzz2112
[Archive]sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\ I just applied this to my ini file and lost some custom weapon textures, reverting back to original.
