bladexdsl
i have supply lines between sanctuary, sunshine tidings and abe farm but i keep getting messages food and water is running out and i need to build/supply them on them sets when i talk to settlers they tell me they need them that don't have them? i thought food and water was supposed to be shared? abe farm has about 30 food which should be more than enough for the other sets. Lisnpuppy
I haven't tried so I have no clue if it is true but I read this: You can establish supply lines by assigning a provisioner, once you have more than one settlement active and the Local Leader perk. Settlements that overproduce food or water can transfer the resources amongst themselves in order to keep everyone happy. here:http://www.tentonhammer.com/guides/fallout-4/fallout-4-settlement-building-and-management-guide-power-water-food-and-more
bladexdsl
well it doesn't seem to be working my farm is definitely over producing.
Vagrant0
I believe it is limited by the distance that the provisoners have to travel. If it is a long distance, they won't be able to meet all the needs of the settlement. All settlements should try to have most of their needs met locally and use provisioners only for those cases where a settlement goes above the the base number of people that the settlement needs to run everything (eg 2 farmers, 2 guards, 6 merchants). Even the smallest settlements have room for 12 food/water.
bladexdsl
so pretty much the only reason to use supply lines is to share the workshop resources. everything else you still have to do... Vagrant0
so pretty much the only reason to use supply lines is to share the workshop resources. everything else you still have to do...Pretty much how it is, until we have a toolset around to actually look at the scripting. Unfortunately the ingame prompts and information is nearly useless on this and most matters and games these days don't come with anything as useful as an instruction manual which would normally cover that sort of detailed information. And I'm sure that even those third party guides don't even go into detail about those kinds of mechanics.
jamesgelsey
Food and Water are at 0 but remain green at my settlement that grows no food while having no water pumps/processors. But, the settlement status in the pipboy still complains while the settlers whine about food and water incessantly.
bladexdsl
i finally figured it out the food and water HAS to be stored in the workshop.
UhuruNUru
Anything stored in the workshop is available with supply lines. You have to set a provisioner at both settlements to make it a two way process. If you take the second Local Leader perk, the supply lines become Trade routes, without which stores do no trading. One other tip, plant extra crops to make vegetable starch, which is 5 adhesive. All the ingredients are produced by the settlements, you'll always have enough.
Raycheetah
It's my understanding that constructed items (furniture, walls, etc.) stored in the Workbench are not shared, even with Supply Lines established. Other than that, though, pretty much all resources appear to be. =^[.]^=
