I've downloaded each of the 2 patches for morrowind, for my correct location, but they wont install. when they get about 1/3 done they give me the same error message, saying:

Old file cannot be found, however, a file of the same name was found. No update was done since the files do not match.

I've tried to get help on the official elder scrolls forums but to no avail. can anyone here direct me to the answer??

i keep telling you, my copy is 100% legit! i PURCHASED it, you know, P-U-R-C-H-A-S-E-D, PURCHASED it. it wasnt burned, hacked, cracked or downloaded. Now can you please offer some real suggestions? thank you!

Maybe you misinterpret what I mean when I say cracked.

When I say cracked, I mean a No-CD key on your game. You can still legally own the game, but yet have put such a thing on it (The morality behind this is dubious, but if you've bought the game, they should let you play it sans CD, at least IMO.).

I would've, save for the fact that I have (Well had.) a program that would simply create Fake CD-Rom drives and use images of CD's to fool the computer (Thus, keeping my real drives free for other stuff, and saving me 10 seconds of switching disks. Yes, I AM that lazy.)

Anyhow, I presume that you only have Morrowind installed, and none of the expansions, because the expansions automatically update it higher than the two Main Morrowind patches. I also presume you're doing the patches in order, as thats another obvious thing.

With that in mind, I would recommend an uninstall followed by a reinstall. This would seem the simplest solution. (Back up your saves and morrowind.ini file.)
