Trueblue1878
Hi guys, I was playing FO4 last night and alt-tabbed out to check the wiki.. upon going back into game the resolution had set itself to 720p. This has happened a lot of times but usually alt-tabbing out and back in again fixes it. But this time it stayed like that. I just quit and went to bed... today I got home from work and played and the resolution is back at 1080p BUT the graphics quality is still fuzzy, as if its at a non-native resolution to my monitor. I have gone into the launcher and set everything to Ultra again.. and it still does it. It is like console graphics on a old TV kinda.. its all fuzzy and really annoying. All the crispness has gone, but everything is set to Ultra as usual.. No mods installed.. I have linked a screenshot, but I don't know if anyone can see the difference from it. But there just seems to be a fuzz around the HUD and dialogue text, and everything.. especially noticeable when looking into the distance, it looks like heat blur kinda. TAA is on and not FSAA so its not that.. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85586392/2015-11-24_00003.jpg Any suggestions?? Cheers! Cheers!Odd, I had this exact issue....even my crosshair wasn't in the right place I could put a target in my crosshairs and it would miss far to the side. The whole right side of my screen went black at the main menu. But after I restarted the game (quit to desktop and restarted) It solved everything. Have you checked the game setting on the splash screen on startup? Maybe try changing the graphical settings once and changing it back to what it should be for your monitor. I ....don't really see anything in the screenshot. Looks ok to me though.
Trueblue1878
Yes that is what happens to me regularly when I alt/tab out of game. But usually it all resets back to normal after another alt-tab. But this time I couldn't get it to fix so I just quit the game.. and today the graphics are all blurry and fuzzy. It looks exactly like when you are using a non-native resolution. I have deleted settings ini files and generated new ones.. installed the latest nvidia driver and everything is definitely on "Ultra".. I just don't get it. You may not see from the screenshot because it may be a problem between the card > monitor.. I could only show you what I mean through taking a photo but then it will look crappy regardless so not much point.. Other games look fine. Everything just looks blurry.. even the main menu, the HUD, dialogue text. Its driving me crazy.. Maybe this post is the same problem.. https://steamcommunity.com/app/377160/discussions/0/496881121380179168/ But they seem to all be people who only just started playing. I have clocked up 200 hours before this happened. So it is very strange! Has there been a ghost hotfix/patch last night maybe?? They don't even tell us anymore >.< Hi guys, I was playing FO4 last night and alt-tabbed out to check the wiki.. upon going back into game the resolution had set itself to 720p. Higgenboober
Does borderless full screen make a difference?
Trueblue1878
Nope. I still see the fuzz/blur on things. I would turn off DOF and SSAO but they were all on before this started to happen. EDIT: Actually just did and its the same. Thanks for your reply. I really hope someone knows what is wrong.. can't play like this.. makes me feel like my eyes are watering or something >.< Does borderless full screen make a difference? Trueblue1878
Just an update: I have reset nvidia settings as well.. deleted fallout 4 files and reinstalled.. I have reset my monitor settings and made sure it was on standard not text reading etc. I also put my glasses on lol so its not my eyes deteriorating hugely overnight! Could windows 10 cause this? I also noticed in FO4 loading screen that the yellow mesh seems to be ABOVE the rotating object now when I am sure it used to be behind it as a background.. but I am reaching now! Maybe the steam overlay.. I will disable that.. totally clutching at straws now :( Help would be very much appreciated.. the reason I came here for help is because folks around here are a lot more intelligent and knowledgeable than anyone you would find on Bethesda forums. Cheers!
JoelJ
Have this in W7, Gtx 1070, hdmi cable. When alt tabbing back and forth, it gets fuzzy, like loses focus. This persists even after I quit fallout up until I reboot my pc. REALLY annoying. Only game that does this.
