LimaBeanMage
I mostly achieve 30 fps outside with everything maxed, at least on 1024x768, but every time I load an area or am in an area where I am moving while continuously loading landscape ahead of me it drops to around 12-15 fps. I've read most ini tweak guides but I'm not sure what exactly, when loading, if not the loading itself, is causing a small strain every once and a while for those specific reasons. While not too big of a problem, it's annoying *just* enough to make me think about it. What settings, both in game and in the .ini cause the most strain while loading a new area (including loading itself)? Oh, yeah, I didn't put this under technical support because it's not a real "error" or problem, from my point of view at least.
Sypron
You'd be suprised how far a new stick of RAM can go. I upgraded from 512 to 1gig, and loading screens are about 5x faster.
Switch
Well I think this probably still fits in best in Technical Support. Moving... Posting your specs is always handy. ;) As Sypron says, more RAM can make a big difference.
LimaBeanMage
Pentium 4: 3.0ghz1024mb RAMgeforce 7900gs 256mb Yeah, I think it might be the ram, but I just upgraded to 1 gig. I'll have to change to 2 gig now to make a noticable difference. I think.
LimaBeanMage
Alright I have a new dilemma on the same issue that might be connected but I'm not sure. FPS differences do not add up correctly based on what I'm viewing, or at least I don't think so. Some areas that should be more intense or require more resources actually have a higher fps yield than ones with fewer requirements. http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/8905/screenshot1ng3.png This is one area that I think displays such an anomaly. Facing toward and back from the same spot means the difference of almost 15 fps but the elements displayed by both don't seem to call for that. The 15 fps difference remains with every graphics setting at max and at their lowest settings. http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/8802/screenshot4or1.png http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/5910/screenshot5uj0.png
